The app has lost most of my favourites. I used to have around 400, now there are just over 100, many things I buy every week have gone. There is no multi item search anymore. This used to be good but is now limited to one item at a time. The worst thing with the app is you can’t make a comment about a product, e.g. “only slightly green bananas (not fully yellow)” or “must have at least 7 days before use by” on milk. The worst thing about Sainsbury’s online shopping is our current source shop (Swadlincote, I believe) keeps sending items which are off before their use-by date (e.g. raw chicken covered in bacterial colonies); orange juice that was not sealed, leaked & (presumably because it was not sealed) was already off on delivery; milk that was a date over its use by on delivery (delivery 20th August, use by 19th August); items such as whole milk to substitute semi-skimmed presumably because they thought fair trade was more important to me than type of milk (repeatedly despite being informed about it). I asked to change supplier but was told they couldn’t do that. We have had other suppliers (fosse park, Nottingham, etc.) with whom we have had very few problems. We are now considering changing to one of Sainsbury’s rivals. We’ve given them plenty of opportunities to improve but they don’t. There is obviously a real problem with food hygiene & date compliance at this shop.

I have switched from shopping online with Asda to Sainsbury’s and the Sainsbury’s app is much better to use! Firstly, (and this is such a small thing) the loading icon that is used, loved that it was a pumpkin over Halloween and now it’s a spinning mince pie! Keep adding new loading icons they are a giggle! Its also really easy to change and update my order, it’s shame you can amend the substitute options within the app and you have to do it on a desktop but it’s not a huge biggie (but may earn you 5 stars if that could be changed!) I like that it shows you “green delivery slots” to make you aware who else is having orders delivered within the area so they can try to reduce their carbon foot print (👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻) the recipes along the bottom are great too, would be fab if you could add the recipe food items to your basket within the app instead of taking you to an external web page but the next time you go into your order in the app from adding items on the website they are there and it’s all synced! Lots of product info in each item and images of the food, and it always tells you when you checkout what’s not available and what substitute they plan to give you so you can decide there and then if you want it or not!

Having taken the plunge to have home shopping after becoming disabled I can only praise the service I received. The delivery slots are an hour long and over the whole day and evening which is perfect for me as I need some help to unpack. The delivery drivers are kind, considerate and act like nothing is too much bother. They deliver into the kitchen and are happy to help unpack for me. I never feel pressured or rushed and am made to feel valued as a customer. The online ordering is simple to use and the weekly or manufacturer in store offers are readily available to see. Any items not available are replaced( so far with brilliant alternatives) or the driver will take them back right then so Cant say fairer. I’m very happy with the quality and sell by/ use by dates are even pointed out if less than expected, above and beyond. Well done Sainsbury’s for making the change from store to home delivery for me so painless, a pleasure in fact. Great job choosing such lovely drivers, they made it for me totally.

Please avoid Sainsbury’s online if you can. They are cheaper than Ocado but as a customer of both I have to say I never waited more than a few minutes to get assistance/replied on Ocado. Which is completely different on Sainsbury’s. Anytime of they year/day i had to contact Sainsbury’s customer service I wait at least 30-45min to talk with someone (forget email/messenger as they don’t reply at all). They very rarely are able to help on that call. So be ready to call 3-4x to hopefully talk with someone that can do more than say “I will pass this on and investigate the case”. And this is all before Coronavirus outbreak! Now is impossible to even talk w customer service. I’m literally on my second attempt to get a refund for a previous order. First call waiting 1:07min and no one picked the phone than someone did to just to be put on hold again than disconnected a couple of minutes later. Second time now. Waiting for so far 35min and still nothing. PLEASE TRY ANY OTHER SUPERMARKET FIRST !

This app used to be fine then a few months ago I started experiencing all sorts of problems for example takings hours to check out, entire contents of the cart disappearing, having to switch to the online version to check out because it just won’t go through, items not appearing in the app for weeks on end when they are always in the store, orders disappearing once they had been placed and confirmation email received resulting in NO DELIVERY! I called customer services about the missing deliveries and they were completely useless offering no help at all. I also completed an online feedback about the app and got a out of the box response saying thank you for my feedback but offering no solution. This app is completely driving me mad and Sainsburys appear to be in complete denial doing nothing about it. I’ve shopped at Sainsburys for years but I only have time for online shopping so this app is forcing me to go elsewhere.
