ThriveCash

I think that if every student out there knew that they could use ThriveCash to take out a loan of up to a quarter of what they are going to earn over the summer or after school graduation with their full-time job, this would be the extra motivation many need to really work hard to secure solid internships during the school year. I am a current student at UMich and I had no idea that getting an internship in investment banking for the summer would mean that with ThriveCash I could have some extra cash during the year to use for whatever I want. This would have motivated me way way earlier on to try and get a decent internship! I am writing this review mostly for the students that are freshmen and sophomores, so they know that not only is getting an internship good for your resume/career experience in general but it can make your school year a lot easier because with a service like this you can get quite some money to use during the school year even before you have started your internship. Some people only think they can get internships in their last two years, but I would encourage students of all years to try and get recruited, since now not even finances should be a barrier to get a job, if they know about ThriveCash. I don’t really know when they started offering their services here at UMich, but would’ve helped me so much to know they were around and available to use earlier.

We all know it’s pretty awkward talking about money with friends. Unfortunately, I usually end up being that friend in my fraternity group that has to say no to most fun things: trips to New York, spring break, local bar nights, etc. Not necessarily because I don’t want to go but because I just don’t want to spend that much money. It’s honestly fine though because most of the time I prefer doing things that don’t cost too much, but I would also really like to have the option if I did want to! Thankfully Wesleyan is a college campus with not that much around it, but I am now able to not have to just immediately turn down situations because I am worried about the cost. Honestly, its made a really big difference! It’s just nice to not have to be that guy all the time, and it’s reassuring to have funds available if I want them. And their service is just dope. Like I literally got the money the next day which isn’t what you expect when you are applying for something like a loan or anything finance related. Also Emily from customer service is really really helpful whenever there was an issue or if I had questions she answered everything very quickly. The interest rate was a little hard for me to wrap my head around, but she did a great job of breaking it down, and offering to explain it to me everytime. In general, I don’t have any complaints and I am super satisfied with their app!

It’s not easy being an international student and having to ask your parents to transfer money from overseas every time you need some extra cash. Actually it was pretty funny I first saw a flyer on my campus, UVA, and it had this joke on it about the work authorizations (the OPT and CPT) that really hit home! The struggle for international students is so real! I think that a couple of weeks or so I got an email about ThriveCash explaining their product which was when I decided to download the app and check it out. I first went through the demo mode which I recommend since it was helpful to see how it would look like if i were to unlock an amount of money. It was also super helpful cause most of the time with financial stuff I don’t want to fully commit till I know what it looks like at the end. Next I went through the whole process of sending them my internship offer letter and getting my amount on the app and choosing what they call your payment plan. I actually went back and changed my payment plan a couple of weeks ago, and you can also do it directly through the app or texting them directly too doesn’t really matter. It is all surprisingly easy, and I keep on waiting for the process to get more complicated but it really doesn’t. I’m about to go through my first scheduled payment, and they even sent me a reminder about it which was such a nice touch on their side.

I never leave reviews but seeing some of the other reviews here I had to, want to give some love and support to a great product that helped me out recently. First of all, has anyone else here checked out their site? 1. Their design is amazing, props to the developers and designers and anyone else involved in that 2. The FAQ section is baller, show me another company that has a literal database of questions for you to search through 3. Check out their set of investors, ThriveCash is def not messing around. David Sacks and Max Levchin as investors, now if that isn’t legit then I don’t know what is. I see a lot of people here got direct marketing from them. I personally didn’t I was just looking for options and found them. I love new concepts and new ideas and this app was straight up my alley didn’t really think about it too much. Downloaded it, sent my information, unlocked my cash, it hit my bank account. Super fast. Super easy. Great product build. They do an awesome job at explaining it all and had zero questions throughout the whole process so I also didn’t really experience their amazing customer service everyone raves about, but honestly good to know it’s there if I need it. Already used half of the cash, will probably use what is left this coming month. The coolest part is that either directly or indirectly, I kind of was able to get a personal loan from a PayPal founder…

I now go to UChicago but I actually first heard about Thrive from the Northwestern Business Review (where I studied as an undergrad and was part of the NBR then, still get their updates from time to time). The piece was an interview with the cofounder, he went on to explain his story and his reasoning for starting the company. I just thought that the mission of the company was on point, and that there is a need for it too. I downloaded the app to have a look but didn’t really think I would need to take out some money with them and completely forgot about it. I got a customer support follow-up not too long ago to see if there was anything they could help me out with that reminded me about the product. I again didn’t really need the cash, but sent in the offer letter I got recently to see how the whole app works. Just as advertised, they unlocked my money in around 15 min and as other people have mentioned on the reviews, all extremely seamlessly. I sat on the unlocked cash a couple of days and then decided to unlock just a bit to take a trip to NY. Once I was there, I took a bit more to enjoy the city to the fullest. It was nice to be able to take small amounts as needed. It’s also nice to realize that although I didn’t plan on using it it was awesome to have it available, it allowed me to be a little bit more spontaneous with my time before I finish up my masters.
