Level Bank

Lots of banks offer a high interest rate, early deposit availability or cash back on debit card transactions. However Level is the first I’ve seen that offers ALL of these. Been slowly moving my funds over to make them my main bank account. App is great and easy to read. No issues whatsoever with my account after a month. Highly recommend if you want to make the most of your cash. Edit: Just dropped their rate to .50%. A drop is understandable given Fed rate cut. However, that rate is too low. Most online banks kept their rate in the 1.50% range. Will have to consider moving my funds to get a more competitive rate elsewhere.

since signing up I transferred $1,000 and almsot screwed over myself more by ALMOST making level my direct deposit bank. Everything was looking great up until half way through my initial deposit completing; I got an email that something in my UNUSED and NEW bank account was frozen. Leaving me completely out of $1,000 which has now been sitting casually in Level Banks organization. It’s COVID-19, money is tight, hours are SEVERELY CUT; rent and bills are due; and I’m told to wait 5 days for a response after they email me that they need a 30-day bank statement from where I transferred money from. It’s been over a week now and I still have no access to my money; no response from Level Zendesk Support. Just when I thought I found an online bank worth trying - I am given a HUGE reason to continue to bank with a bigger bank for MORE than obvious reasons. TLDR; if you’re looking for a savings account that you DEFINITELY can not withdraw from until someone from their “helpful” support team gets back to you (5 days or so later) - Level is the bank for you. Otherwise, stick with a trusted name in banking.

Level is currently my favorite app. It’s 2020 and it still confuses me on why more banks don’t invest more into their ui design. After being sick of slow, clunky apps, Level is a breath of fresh air. Quick, gorgeous, and minimalistic, Level accomplishes everything a banking interface should. Level offers Cash Back, Early DD, decent interest and no fees - it currently offers more than what most online banks do checking wise. I’m excited for the option to deposit checks and Apple Pay. Currently, that’s the only thing keeping me from making the full transition besides storing higher net savings in a credit union. I highly recommend Level. The application process does take a little bit longer to be approved (due to COVID-19 at the time of writing this) but it’s definitely worth the wait.

The app is fine. Even though there should be a full-size iPad version. But I don’t know anyone that gets their paycheck two days early with this bank. You shouldn’t get customers’ hopes up promoting that possibility on your website. Also, why don’t you have a darker, thicker font option available for older users? Your thin, light gray option can be difficult to view and that shouldn’t be an issue when making selections with my money. I know that font style might be considered hip, modern and young, but older people (who are often visually less acute) have (often more) money too. Please create a font option everyone can appreciate.

I like the 1% cash back you start earning right away. Good job! A few things I would recommend. They hold a 20% potential tip on all food places which I understand to avoid over drafts but you are also including fast food places where you don't normally tip. This includes McDonald's Hardee's Dunkin Donuts. I feel you should not include these types of places. I'd also like to see a bill pay option where I can send a check or draft to a company as needed. Most prepaid companies do offer this such as Chime or Varo.
