So I have the Grocery Gadget app that I love, it has a prepare section (which is an ongoing list that I’ve built of items I regularly purchase) and a shop section (which are quantities of items I add when I need them using the prepare list). While I shop I can check things off similar to the H-E-B app, and they fall to the bottom. At the end of the shopping trip I can say “shopping done” and it will remove all the checked items from the shopping list (but it keeps them stored in the prepared list). I love that the H-E-B app has specific items and can tell me what aisle they are on BUT it’s not user friendly. There is no commonly shopped items list (ie to prepare from) stored anywhere that I can see. So every time I need to go through their giant inventory. I understand there are complications in setting something like that up, but perhaps there can be warnings of low supply. Also on Grocery G, my husbands app and mine are synced so anything I add Is added directly on his. Anyways. I originally downloaded the app for curbside (because it showed a button on the App Store that said curbside), only to find out this cannot be used for curbside. A little frustrating, at this point I think I may just continue to use the Grocery Gadget app.

Locating items in the store and sorting them in "walk-thru" order is the main reason for using the app. Creaing the list is a bit difficult on a small smart-phone screen (there is no way to run the app on an iPad). A major deficiency is that when you are done creating the list, the app will NOT print the shopping list so you can have a paper copy in the store. It will email the list but when the email arrives the itmes are no longer sorted (sorting is one of the main features of the app). You cannot delete a named “list” once you have created it. I have used this app for over a year now and have a second list I created as a test that I cannot get rid of no matter what I do. I have even uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and the list will not disappear. I have even closed my account and re-opened under a new user name and the list continues to exist on my iPhone when I reinstall the app. It seems clear that the developers of this app have never attempted to use it themselves. UPDATE: The tradition continues - this is still one of the worst apps on my iPhone. It appears there has been no attempt to improve the ap or to resolve any of the problems mentioned above. Just wish the developers would try using it themselves or that the owners of H-E-B would care enough to take care of business. Such a shame!

I am vision impaired. I would like to be able to use this app to email my list to a friend with exact product descriptions, request curb service, or request delivery. When I click on the button four “my lists”, The phone goes to the screen where the lists appear, but voiceover will not read the name or activate any of the lists so that I can add any products to them. When will app developers get it through their heads that they need to turn on accessibility features and check to see that all app features work when those features are activated as well as when they are not? None of the right arrows work with voiceover either. I spoke with the manager of our local store who said that he would personally contact H-E-B about these problems with accessibility. If he followed through on his promise, nothing has been done to fix the problems since I wrote this review. Obviously, H-E-B is not interested in making its app more accessible for vision impaired people.

I shop between 2 store locations so when I’m building my list, I choose the store so that is groups the items on my list by location in the store. This is great, BUT it doesn’t switch my store very easily. It freezes the application or times out and it takes me several attempts to change the location. Sometimes I start browsing the products and adding to my list but when I go to view my list none of the items were ever added. This is VERY frustrating after I had attempted to add about 12 items before finding this out! SUGGESTION- You should add a product request option for the store selected as My Store. The main reason I don’t just stick to one store is because there are items that my main store doesn’t carry. I know there are other people who would buy these products but shopping with 2 kids makes it difficult to stand in line after my 2 hours in the store to request a specific product be carried.

I use the app almost exclusively to find products & to determine where they are located in the H-E-B I prefer to use, either to save time when shopping or to tell someone shopping for me where to find it. The initial versions of the app worked well for doing that & readily provided info about the H-E-B identified in account settings as my preferred store. Now, however, the updated app ignores my preference to ONLY give me info about an H-E-B that is a poorly stocked cesspool best avoided at all costs, even though it is slightly (just 10ths of a mile) nearer to me than the much, much, much better store I prefer & actually go to. E.g., if I search for something such as milk (whether a big brand like Borden or just “milk”), the results will indicate that only the slightly-closer cesspool carries it, even though every H-E-B stocks milk (including their own brand). Given the timing, this “bug” is almost certainly related to the intro of H-E-B’s curbside & home delivery services & is meant as an optimization, but it’s not. Instead, it’s just misleading and aggravating. Please fix it ASAP.
