Setting up my account and adding a payment option was easy and relatively fast. Used the app at the bowser yesterday and all went smoothly and quickly. The “pay for fuel” tab was self explanatory and easy to navigate. Currently no option to link Velocity points (lost a rating star for that). I understand velocity cards can still be used in-store but this defeats the purpose of the app in my opinion. From reading other previous reviews of this app it is quite clear that many consumers (myself included) believe this feature should have been included in the initial release, not been left as an afterthought with a promise that “the app is under constant development and more features will be added in the future”. It currently feels like we are “missing out” on a reward we would have otherwise be offered. All round a great app and keen to see the rewards link option soon.

The initial setup process is too long and switches between the app & online. I also made the mistake the first time of filling up before launching the app and then had to wait for the store person to override it before it would process my payment. Made it half way to the register before that happened. There should be an option come up to select whether you have filled up already or not. Used it today for the second time and remembered to open the app first but even though the app says the pump is released and able to be used you still have to wait until the store person releases it before you can fill up. Also massive lag between finishing and the payment being approved. I actually got my emailed receipt before the app showed that payment had been made & I could drive off. It is good to not have to get all of the kids out of the car to pay for fuel but with all the lags it doesn’t actually save much time. Disappointing also that not all places accept the app.

A little tricky to setup for me, mainly because I assumed I could create a single account for the family (not so). Then I accidentally entered the wrong PayPal account which I tried to change but couldn’t, but then figured out later I could delete it and then newly enter the correct account (sigh). At first use at the fuel station I was pleasantly surprised it was very easy and quick to use. Finger print login super easy. Pump selection could be easier, sorry but using Apple’s list scroller is not the best way to pick a simple pump number (lost a Star). Everything else worked amazingly smoothly and quickly. I love the fact that the map shows which stations do and do not support BPme. This app hands down beats the USA method of using credit cards at the pump. Fantastic job BP, thank you for making my life easier with young ones in the back seat.

Today I used your app, second time the app hasn’t worked for me. Great concept but created a lot more hassle for me. I drove out of my way so I didn’t need to get sleeping baby or 5yo out of the car. Payment didn’t go through and not wanting to get kids out of car I drove away from pump to store and called BPMe. I was advised they were having issues with PayPal payments and they’d send me a text as I wouldn’t be able to pay in store (confirmed by app) and I just pay them by directions on text. I later received a message from police to explain why I allegedly stole petrol. This was very stressful for me to have to explain this to the police in front of my children. I was told to go back to the station to pay. I am a busy working mother of 2 and when trying to save time and make my life a little easier it has actually been quite distressing and a lot of extra work me. Not worth the hassle.

Absolute garbage app. Two tries both terrible experience. Need to fiddle around with setting up BEFORE even starting to fill. Not good when there are a dozen cars waiting behind you. (Im not talking about the one time registration which goes without saying needs to be completed, I’m talking about the need to connect to the station, choose a pump and wait for the start filling prompt before you can get started and this all happens slow) Then when done the app doesn’t switch from the fill now prompt, to payment processing. Have to go inside and have them manually acknowledge the purchase before it will continue. Also no Velocity points using the app. Even if it was capable of processing a purchase without needing to go inside, it is not a time saver by the time you go through pre-fill setup, fill and then process payment. Driving in and needing to setup a pump connection and wait for the you can now fill, then when done going back to the app a second time and spending the same time again to process the payment doesn’t cut it. The expectation, especially if it is going to save any time, is you drive in fill up then open the app choose the pump and process the outstanding balance. As mentioned, in my experience, every visit has also required going in, getting in the queue and having them fiddle around on the computer to get the payment to start processing in the app.
