Wellbeyond Meditation for Kids

Thank you Wellbeyond - Like most 5-year-old boys, mine goes through phases with tons of energy. He's a super sweet boy, but of course he bounces off the walls from time to time. So it makes it worth the time to write this review to say how grateful I am that he LOVES to tie in to the short meditations before going to sleep at night. He loves the voices and seems to really enjoy slowing down and relaxing. The fact that he views it almost as "screen time" while getting the benefits of small bits of meditation is totally awesome. This is a cute app with great illustrations to help kids-or even adults-relax. However, it’s very difficult to get into the meditation because the narrator speaks too loudly, too quickly putting multiple words together at times, and sounds as though she is annoyed rather than calm and relaxed. Meditation should be soft and calm and relaxed in volume and tone. This app has none of that at all! I really wanted to love this app, but unfortunately I will use a different app. As a side note for anyone who does choose to use this app, the parental section of this app has a very weak barrier for kids. It just spells out four different numbers and gives you a key pad to type the numbers written out. Once that’s done, you’re in! This is how they try to prevent kids from getting into the parent section. However any kid over the age of 5 is going to be able to get past that in two seconds! I don’t know what they were thinking with that, but that’s not preventing any kid from getting in the parents section. Just a heads up for any parents out there!

10 year old ADHD boy loves this app! He uses it every night to relax his mind and fall asleep. We also recently used the feelings meditation where it tells him to hug himself to get through a fit of anger and it worked! I have also seen him hugging himself at random times and places and it just melts my heart to see him using your app with such success! Completely worth the money for access to all meditations.

We have been using this app for over a year with our kids. Had the free version, then upgraded to get all the meditations. It’s great for bedtime, calming, mindfulness, etc.. The kids even ask to use the meditations on their own now and will start them, curl up in bed and conk out. It’s been really useful to teach them to be still at bedtime and follow simple directions. Best few bucks we’ve spent on a kids’ app!

We love meditating to these gentle guided meditations. These helped my children a lot during some tough family changes and stressful situations. They helped me too. At first my youngest started off not able to sit still for even a second. A year later, he sits through them all the way through. Stay hopeful!
