After using this app once the app itself requested a review. So far it does seem to be doing what it's supposed to do. After first scanning my items I had to create an account, which is fair enough. But when it came to complete the deal it hadn't saved my details and was saying it needed my forename. I couldn't continue. I then started signup again, and lost the basket. Had to re-scan the CDs. I have noticed from previous scans that some CDs were accepted at one time and rejected at another. Seems inconsistent. I haven't played enough with the app, for example I don't know if you can manipulate a basket in any way.

I think maybe the app has been updated since some of the previous reviews as I found it easy to use and could simply delete some of the books I’d scanned if I changed my mind (just swipe left on the item and the delete option appears). I didn’t expect my books to be valued particularly high but was pleasantly surprised by some. I’m just grateful to have a tool that allows me to declutter while also earning some extra pennies. I also like that you can arrange for a courier to come and collect. I’ve left off one star because I haven’t yet figured out how to print off my labels... the app seemed more keen to get a review from me than to complete my transaction! 🙃

My first time using this service. I’ve just packed my first parcel - in a box that is well reinforced in all directions with packing tape. Haven’t yet had the parcel collected or payment. Although I was quite surprised at their choice of my books - not interested in many that I thought would be popular - my first impression is very positive. By far the fastest barcode scanner I’ve encountered on any app, so scanning even a large pile of books was no great chore. Offer received instantly, packing instructions clear, courier collection just a click of a button, and despatch label received, printed and attached in no time. Couldn’t be easier.

I used this app to sell two games and several new books which I don't read (app valued my books very low). They picked my parcel up from my place and I got an email next day that they received it. However, on the same day, they also sent me an email saying that my two games were missing so they will reduce £11. I was so surprised and complained that everything was packed together, so I cannot understand how only two games were missing. They said: "I am afraid as the items were sent in paper and not a box as stated in the packing guidelines the packaging was damaged in transit. As they were not packaged correctly we are unable to claim for them with Hermes and are unable to pay for the missing items." I packed everything in a thick sealed postbag and it cannot be damaged that easily. I cannot avoid thinking that someone in Hermes (or in this company?) immediately stole my games, saying that the package was damaged. It looks like the theft knew those new books were low valued, but my games were valued higher by this App. I am going to receive nearly nothing. It was a really unpleasant experience. I will never sell my stuffs using this app. If you are going to sell yours by this app, please be careful with your packaging!!

I’ve been waiting 3 months for my books to be picked up. Yes 3 months. Apparently the first time Hermes didn't bother to put the collection on the correct area so they didn’t get collected. Ever since They’ve said they’re trying to ask Hermes to come back and collect but they’re waiting to hear from Hermes. What kind of company uses a delivery company that it takes 3 months to get a reply from? On top of that, not once have they reached out to me. I’ve had to chase them up continually to find out what’s going on. Even this last time where apparently (after 2 months) they finally escalated the issue. And Hermes told them a collection would go ahead. How did I know, because once again I had to chase them asking what was happening. How on earth would Hermes be able to pick something up when I knew nothing about it? Hence not be in or leave the boxes outside. No one contacted me to say Hermes we’re going to pick up. Also, it never happened anyway. They didn’t apologise until I pointed out that no one had even bothered to. Absolutely appalling customer service and total incompetence of both We Buy Books and Hermes. Go with someone else. This company is a joke.
