WDW Today Channel

For those of you who do not understand what this is, this is a channel that you get on your in-room television while at a Walt Disney World resort. This app is live streaming this exact channel to your phone. The music loops this exact way at Disney - no, the developers can't change that. No, the music won't restart when you open and close it, because it's being LIVE streamed to your phone. If you were at your room at your Disney resort right now with this channel on your tv, this is EXACTLY what you'd see and hear! I am so happy that I found this! I spend a lot of time at Disney World. This is the channel that I keep my TV on my entire trip. I literally thought I was the only one who loved this channel but I'm so glad I was wrong! I would have given my review 5-stars, but as some individuals expressed in other reviews, there are some app issues that need to be addressed. When an AD pops up, it messes with the sound and picture. I understand ads are essential to a free app, so 1) there should be a way to have an ad pop up without affecting app performance, and 2) offer a paid option to get rid of the ads. My only other issue at this time is that I would be amazing to be able to have this play in the background if I'm using another app or if the screen is off.

Let me drop my resume, I am a season pass holder from Pennsylvania and I go 2-3 a year to Disney. Let me first say that this app is genius. I love the concept. I love opening it and going “MK is open until 1 AM tonight!?” I love hearing the music. I love reemerging myself into the bubble. Having said that, it is certainly not the “actual” WDW Today channel in the resorts. It is clearly a reproduction. And that’s ok. But it needs cleaned up. The times should read “8 am” not “8am” and the transitions are too quick. There are small errors that can be noticeable and if you take a look at the real thing you will notice them. Everything else is pretty close to the real thing. Bravo.

I loooooove this app since it’s the live feed directly from the WDW resorts! I cannot tell you how many times I have turned this on for a few minutes as an instant Disney fix or have let it play for an hour in the background. It truly feels like I’m getting ready to get on the monorail!

It is not the actual channel that is playing in WDW, as advertised. If you look at the tv screen when on property, when a water park is not open, as one is currently closed right now for maintenance, it does not say “closed” underneath the title, it says “refurbishment”. The app says “closed”. And it is missing a lot of information that is on the closed circuit loop on property. That being said, it still gives me a little taste of “home”, so I’ll keep it.

I absolutely love this. It puts me back into my Disney dream every time I hear it. BUT it is not a live stream of the actual channel as some have stated in the other reviews. The music loop does in fact restart to the beginning every time you open it back up. Which for some reason makes it feel a little less special. But still love this app and the online version as well.
