PintPass - Earn Beer Money

As quickly as it began, the success of this app has quickly deteriorated. It’s a shame because I love craft beer, saving money, and supporting local business. However, since April 2019 PintPass has done away with beer money (temporarily?) and posted a press release to state all the excuses for it. Ps: hey PintPass... You can’t take away your primary feature and expect your fans to love you unconditionally. The way you went about it was really shady because you could have at least made changes to your app to properly reflect the removal of beer money (and disclosed it properly and clearly) while you work on the relaunch of PintPass features. Bottom line: most don’t care enough unless you incentivize us adequately, and NOBODY cares about a shady business.

So what untapped was already doing, point pass tried to up the game by giving you two dollars of virtual beer money every 24 hour. You checked into a new brewery. However since this spring, we have been told due to PCI requirements, they had to make changes to the app. Well, 5 months later nothing has changed and nothing has been improved. I would not recommend installing this for the purpose of earning beer money. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend installing this at all. It had potential but lack of technical strengths and lack of funding I would guess. Nice try guys.

Everything about this app, from the beta group to the real deal worked flawlessly. Last time I was at my local brewery I answered four quick questions, It might’ve taken two minutes, and was immediately rewarded with a couple bucks of free beer money. It took about 30 seconds to politely explain the payment process to the server. Good to go! Can’t wait to show all my craft beer buds. Text a beer is a great way to do that since they don’t need the app to receive a beer.

I have used the app a couple of times in the last week and works just as advertised. They have also been quickly responsive to my emails. I have sent 2 recommendations to add breweries and one to be removed because it is no longer operating. They have responded quickly and added the missing ones and removed the bad one. I am really enjoying it and it’s nice to have a map where you can find breweries.

This app (and the company) are amazing. You visit a craft brewery somewhere in the US, open the app, check in, answer a few questions and then get money deposited into your account for drinking beer! What better way to enjoy your favorite local breweries? Also, the team is amazing. I’ve emailed support with minor issues and suggestions and they’re great about getting back to me and fixing the issue.
