Have had this system for two years now and contractor has had to replace the thermostat two additional times since original installation. This is a poorly designed product which should be upgraded and replaced. All software upgrades since the beginning have done little to improve performance. Specifically, the heating temperature sensor is quite inaccurate, especially when coming to temperature following overnight lowering. With the “smart recovery” feature, it alway starts the warmup way to early and has typically reached temperature at least 1/2 hour too early. This wastes energy. In addition, the system overheats by a degree or more before eventually reaching equilibrium an hour later. From that point the control is stable. This thermostat is paired with the Bryant 97% efficiency furnace. Other issues include completely inaccurate readings for therms and kWh compared with my home meters and readings on the thermostat are not the same as readings on the app. This system was purchased with way higher expectations that what has been received and Bryant should correct all of these deficiencies ASAP. Customers have invested a a lot of money to upgrade systems and should have every expectation it performs as advertised. I get the distinct impression Bryant doesn’t care.

I had an ecobee with my previous furnace and that brand is pretty much the gold standard for smart thermostats. We bought a new house with a zone system and ecobees were no longer an option. ☹️ Our furnace went out and we had to replace the furnace so we also replaced the zone system and got new thermostats. This app does not always work perfectly like some of the reviews state. There are times where I change the temp in a zone and it doesn’t register with a zone. That’s valid. There are times where it locks up and I have to restart the app. You will hate it if you expect the quality of a nest or ecobee. But it works much better than the reviews indicate. It is not completely useless. I went from the old mercury/non-programmable thermostats to being able to control all zones from my phone or the main thermostat. I’m pleased since my expectations were based on the horrible reviews. It’s not great by any means but it’s also not worthless garbage. Update: the app works consistently for me if I update the temp in a zone, tap on “features,” and then tap on the arrows down by “status as of.” This updates your app and for some reason, it will ensure that any change you make communicates with your thermostat.

This app suffers from some connection issues...it seems like the real data in between the unit and the cloud and the app is just a window to that environment. Improvement Ideas: A more drag and drop scheduler with “cross like” sliders (one for time another for temp) Integrate “vacation” as just another mode like “home” and chosen in the same menu The app doesn’t seem to reflect the equipment status in real time. I remotely update temperatures and they don’t seem to “stick”...the heat status doesn’t change (stays “off” ostensibly) but the temperature rises. This is a significant issue. This makes the app one step away from useless. Track daily energy usage with a month and then sum each month for 365 days (best would be to write a user definable data set to my cloud server on a daily basis). It would be fantastic if this tracked daily average outside temperature and daily energy usage. Provide an auto data backup feature via the web so that I could save daily usage off line for analysis (I would seek local weather data from somewhere like the weather channel as well) The daily scheduler doesn’t seem to work at all....ever XXXXXXXXX Update October 2019 They have fixed the background infrastructure that this unit interfaces with. It is much better. There aren’t any major updates to the app that I’ve noted but the system now finally functions as needed. I have upped my review to three stars.

I have 3 $100 3m Thermostats that work perfect. For years. And this thing I don’t trust at all. Entire Schedule is Set to 70. When I leave I set it to Away (which is 50) and Hold. If I change it from Hold to “Per Schedule” it should go to 70. The App refuses. Until I play with it for 10 minutes. Total crap. Sometime does work but the screen is just saying the wrong thing. So kill the app and restart (only way to be sure if ANYTHING). Unbelievable. Thermostat usually takes 20 clicks to do anything but at least it’s consistent. Still terrible for $700 thermostat. I’d replace it with a Nest in a heartbeat but it’s too integrated to change it and I’m stuck with it. EDIT: Raised to 3 stars, maybe 4. My wife found a trick to make it work. When making any adjustment DO NOT BACK OUT. Let the app timeout and return to the main screen. Since doing this every change has stuck the first time. If you back out to fast it aborts sending the command out.

Must admit we just got this furnace but wanted to give feedback on the app since most reviews were so negative. Maybe the app has updated since those reviews. It takes a few minutes for the thermostat to register the new temp from your phone. At first you think app doesn’t work to adjust temps because the home thermostat doesn’t show the new temp right away. Just be patient and it will reflect your request within 5-10 min. And it DOES keep you signed in. Previous reviewer may have thought the grey check mark meant you were already signed in. The grey check mark is a reminder to check the box so the mark is black. They should remove that grey check mark because it is probably confusing for people. Will update when we try to adjust temp remotely and gain more experience.
