My Shelter App

The screen is not yet optimized for iPhone X? It’s been a year, come on. No Face ID/Touch ID? No Wallet access? No way to update your personal or profile info? The app interface feels old and cumbersome. It feels like an app developed for iOS 5 or 6. We’ll be on 12 in a couple weeks. And don’t even get me started on the ridiculous password requirements. Get with the times. Your customers won’t always be baby boomers. If you plan to keep your lights on, it’s time to remodel, people. #hardtruth

The Shelter Insurance app is handy, but it seems that a few key features aren’t included. First, TouchID would be really nice because I tend to forget my Shelter password. Second, it would be nice if ID cards could be exported to the Apple Wallet so that they are easily accessible. Finally, there should be a main tab that shows your actual agent and his/her contact information. Why would I want to search for an agent if I am obviously already a customer by virtue of being signed in? Fix these features and it’s a five star app.

When opening app, account field to select is blacked out. When I tried to login, entry fields remained white although the cursor was moving as I typed. When I was finally able to log in and view my insurance card, the only option I had was to email the card and not print directly. If I have to log in to the website to do anything for real, what good is this app? If this app is this limited, why even bother?

Downloaded the app difficult to navigate. Added the required information hit submit and got a message to try later. Hit it several more times, waited, tried again no luck. The site does not save your information and I will not spend another 20 minutes adding the same information only to lose it again

It has now been 2 years and this app still doesn’t take advantage of the screen real estate. Also, I recently was involved in a collision. I tried to start my report at the scene. I was impressed, at first, when I saw I could upload photos to the app. However, I proceeded to finish the report when the app crashed and didn’t save my progress.
