Instant Consult are the best! Functional app and easy to use, doctors don’t rush you, always friendly, professional and pretty chill. They can send your prescription right to the local chemist too and supply medical certificates which is neato. I actually haven’t ever had such a consistently positive experience at an in person GP practice. I wish I could see these guys as regular GPs! (Maybe in the future...?) On an overall note, even before they accepted bulk billing their privately billed consultations were more affordable than an in-person GP, which was actually extremely cool. They really could have charged a lot more back when the concept of telehealth consults wasn’t as widespread or even supported under Medicare, so you can tell they were focusing on the accessibility of the service even back then. Only feedback I have is that the login screen doesn’t accept pasting of info from the clipboard. Please turn this on for those of us using password managers :)

Very helpful and professional. Tech support helped me sort out my audio issues after an unsuccessful attempted consult, and the doctor called me back right away at no charge. I appreciated that the doctor asked me several questions to try to understand the situation fully, and recommended a number of next steps including sending me a script that I can pick up from my local pharmacy right away. Greatly appreciated.

Found out about this app during the Covid-19 situation and used the service for myself to avoid having to go into our GP as a precautionary measure. For me it was fine as I was just requesting a prescription that I had run out of. However, my husband also used the app for his gout and was quickly prescribed medication which he consumed for the following week. During the week his gout got progressively worse to the point where he was bed-ridden. We then called our GP who explained that pills he was prescribed was for the PREVENTION of gout and was something that needed to be taken for life. In fact, our doctor advised that these pills when taken with gout could make it worse, and in this case it was true. I would not recommend this app if you needed anything other than a medical certificate or a repeat of current medication.

Such a convenient service, however I won’t be using again due to a ‘miscommunication’ with the Dr that prompted them to try and charge me an additional consult fee. I called, sick on a Saturday night chasing a certificate for that day and likely the following day. I worded this as “I will definitely need a certificate for today and I don’t know how I will go tomorrow?”, opting for the Dr’s advice on the matter. The Dr responded with “so you need a certificate for today?” To which I replied “yes and I will probably need one for tomorrow too”, to which the Dr replied again confirming if I needed one for today; I of course said yes, because I did and he said it was all done and the consult was over in 2 minutes. I had assumed he heard that I needed one for tomorrow and wanted confirmation that I needed today’s date too (as it was quite late - approx 11pm) The call disconnected and I checked my inbox to receive a certificate for the Saturday only. I called back straight away and the response from the supervisor was that regardless of what was said, if I wanted another certificate I’d have to pay another $35.

Honestly I have only needed to use this once so far BUT I think it is brilliant. No sitting and waiting in a doctors surgery! Quick, easy and very helpful/friendly. At the tips of your fingers and bulk billed!! I had a small issue with the video call, not being able to see the doctor but I could hear them just fine and got sorted for what I needed. Thank you to the app providers and the Doctors!
