Geotab Drive

I’ve had few issues with this app. It does it’s job well enough. Problems are few. It connects to my truck instantly every morning. Pre and post trip inspections are a breeze to get through. I would like some sort of visible timer during my 30 minute breaks. Something available in the lock screen would be very handy. Edit: I keep having issues with my duty status changing. The HOS buttons need to be smaller so I can scroll through the HOS page without inadvertently tapping on the buttons. Edit #2, 10Apr20: After the latest update, my HOS screen ALWAYS has a banner stating that I have an upcoming DOT violation. That’s really not helpful. I only need a warning like that if I am actually about to have a DOT violation. Also, it would be helpful if this was a pop up notification that let me know I had a break time coming up, or end of the day, whatever.

Take note before logging out, ALWAYS first go to ASSETS and select NO VEHICLE, by doing this if another driver moved that vehicle the logs will not go to you or the last person that drove the vehicle, by doing this it will now be an unassigned log and that person that did not login to attach themselves to the vehicle will now have to accept the unassigned log, if they do not let your dispatcher know there is unassigned logs and they need to assign them logs to whom they belong to and retrain drivers on how to connect to the vehicle.

Been using this app for some time now and like the updated interface, overall it’s a solid app and easy to use. Today had an issues that the app did not automatically put me on drive and since I had it running in the background and had maps running in front I did not realize it until then end of my route thankfully I did not go thru a DOT inspection. Only issue I have had in a long time.

Why is it so hard to make a competent app for tracking hours? I’m constantly getting violations because other drivers forget to connect to the truck because there is no prompt, so it assumes it’s me driving all the time. There is no way to edit driving hours so it basically looks like like I’m driving 24/7. Change the software so that once the truck is powered off, it clears the driver and prompts the next driver to connect. Or make editing possible/user friendly.

This app will drain a lot of battery, I lose around 30% a day. The user interface is poor, it’s extremely annoying trying to do your inspections. It is also like pulling teeth to adjust previous hours or make any changes This app is an all around nightmare I would not use this app if I had a choice
