Enterprise Car Club

I like enterprise car club, because renting car instantly helped me soo many times. However, I find the reservation process annoying and I think it could be improved. I feel like enterprise lives in a world where everyone does everything on time. For example, if someone rents a car from 12-16 and something happens at 16 o’clock, which will result in a delay of me returning the car by unspecified amount. Sometimes, I cannot extend it, because someone else booked the same car from 16 o’clock. This isn’t fair for me as the person driving the car and it isn't fair for the person who booked the car. I think there is an easy fix. Person renting a car at 16 shouldn’t be able to fully book the car yet, they should probably get a notification saying “due to the small gap time between person returning the car and you booking the car, the car may be late and may be extended by the driver driving the car.” And if the current driver is late and he/she wants to extend his ride, everyone should be able to do that without calling anyone and once the driver returns the car, the other driver should get notifications stating that your car ready to pick up. I like enterprise a great deal, but sometimes this app is just sloppy.

The convenience of a car club is huge for us. We have decided to change our habits, and walk or use public transport more. So when we do need a car (because of inconvenient public transport), the car club makes life much easier. It also forces us to walk sensible distances. We would end up using the car club much more if it had the flexibility of dropping off the car at locations other than the one we picked it up from. For shorter distances, taxis seem to be cheaper and more convenient. The cars are sometimes very dirty. That’s a downside....Also, once we ended up spending 30 mins filling up fuel on our time and cost!

Car clubs are so sensible for city drivers. I joined City Car Club when my camper was in for major repairs and then, when the camper died, I didn’t bother with a replacement vehicle, because a car club vehicle round the corner in its own parking space is so much more convenient. And cheaper. But the admin, and implementation of the app is infuriating. Enterprise took MONTHS and many requests to replace a card. The app continually needs to be logged into, despite me ticking ‘stay logged in’ and using fingerprint ID. Enterprise changed my PIN without telling me, and then swore they couldn’t have done it. Feels like Enterprise are economising on staff and resources, when they ought to be investing.

Really poor customer service, and lack of transparency over cost. They will charge £30 admin fee on top of any offenses. Their plan and pricing is really complex and most time is designed to maximise their fees. They take forever to process claims, lock your account while processing but still charge you monthly fees. Their customer service and damage recovery team don’t talk to each other and it’s impossible to get status on claim. Someone broke the outside mirror while the car was parked; and it has taken now 3 weeks without any update from customer service or indication of cost and timeline. You are also liable for loss of business while the car is unavailable. In a nutshell, this company lack customer focus, looking at making margins through fees, complex pricing and dubious practices. They won’t be in the market for too long.

Awful service - accused of damaging the car and an email telling me they were taking out the excess of £100 from my bank . Customer services handled it so so badly , completely indifferent to anything I had to say and you could never deal with the same person twice ! Basically as long as Enterprise get their money they really don’t care who it is from . I absolutely did not do any damage to the car but what do I do ? If I don’t pay I get a black mark on my finances - it’s not worth the fight for £100 but I am bitterly bitterly disappointed . They took the money this morning and I guess they win - I have paid someone else’s damage and yes I did follow the protocol before I get an automated reply from someone from customer services !! Awful awful awful!!! Plenty of other things have gone on before but this time it really has gone too far . Be very careful if you are thinking of using this service as they enjoy taking money from people . This is the third review by the way / the other 2 haven’t appeared!! Wonder why that would be ? Maybe this won’t either which is why I haven’t gone into loads of detail . Shocking attitudes and no customer care . Susie MacMurdo
