I was fed up of going backwards and forwards with my bank statements and copying and pasting into a spreadsheet to try and make sense of my monthly finances. This App does everything I want and more. It really is a one stop organiser for your finances. See at a glance what your top expenditure was from month to month categorise all transactions into set ones or hashtag your own so you can drill down into spends in and out of your accounts. I must admit I was nervous about linking my bank account with it but it could not be safer. No transactions can be undertaken in the App - it simply pulls the data in from your bank and auto categorises most of the entries which are fully editable. Any it doesn’t pick up you can categorise yourself. See a regular figure of “left to spend” so you can manage your daily/weekly/monthly budgets. Talking of budgets you can also set many budgets in the app to further control how you spend. It’s just what I need and has the added peace of mind of the backing of ING Banking group and as such the app has Bank level security. Customer service is also excellent with a representative emailing you with solutions to any query’s within a few hours. Best of all this app is free. Great UI, functions and ease of use. Top marks for this app.

I truly love having all my accounts - current, credit card and savings in one place. I love the categories provided and how you can assign hashtags for things that don’t fall into any one group perfectly. For example, I have a hashtag for gift purchases or my visit to the nail shop which is usually a cash withdrawal from the nearby ATM or even transfers to my wedding saving account. Now I can still track and visualise those transactions that fall into a specific hashtag group. I had a small issue with my capital one credit card not syncing but I reached out by email to the guys on the help desk and they were so helpful and made sure my issue was resolved. I love how it shows you your spending history by category and also that you can set yourself budgets on overall spending for times when you need to save harshly towards something or when it’s time for austerity and paying off debt. Whatever your financial goals I honestly believe you can reach them here. If anything it opening my eyes to the subtle contactless payments for coffee or a breakfast sandwich that can really start adding up. All in all I’ve used the word “love” like 100 times already in this review but it really is a great and simple app.

I have been testing this out to see how well it works before writing this review and to be fair I don’t usually review apps. However I have loved this one so much get I should share. I have had a couple of questions I’ve raised with help team and they have been quick to respond and help me out. It’s so concise and it’s great if, like me you have to check your bank before you buy things before your next pay day. I used to have to access all my different accounts to see if money available. Now I open Yolt and see balances all on one app. It learns as you go along and tells you how much you have left until payday to know whether you can make that extra purchase or not. It automatically categorises things for you such as Asda it pops it into groceries, if however it was lunch in their Cafe you can change the category and file that transaction under eating out instead so you can monitor how much you spend eating out each month. It’s really helped me out as someone who ends up in overdraft most months, it hasn’t happened since I downloaded this. 👍 Thank you Yolt

I didn’t really “need” this app as all my bank accounts are with the same bank and all accounts are visible on their app at the same time and also I don’t need any help with budgeting but after seeing an ad and reading reviews I was curious and gave it a try. So happy I did. Although I don’t need help budgeting this app does it great. I found it very interesting to see where my money was going category wise as I have always wondered how much I was pending on food and petrol but was too lazy to work it out!! For people with multiple accounts and on a tight budget I can see how this app would be invaluable so much so I have already recommended it to a few people not as lucky as me who really can benefit from this app and they in turn recommended it after seeing it. The app design is also nice to look at and the information is displayed clearly. Give it a try if you think you could benefit from an app like this, I find it great even though I’m not exactly the target market. If it is great for me, target market users would find it even better

Yolt is easy to use and easy to set up, the features it lacks that would make it much more informative and useful would be charts, such as pie charts for category splits each month to see at a glance spending areas each month. The second feature that is really a let down is categories themselves, as they stand they are far too few to get a granular or even accurate view of where my money goes. I’d like to see categories such as credit, with sub categories like store credit payments, loan payment, etc. For transport I’d like sub cats of fuel, repair, bus travel etc. I use an ecig and I’d like to categorise the money I spend on this but sadly I can’t with the limited cats. My two pence on how categories should work is to expand the main categories to add things like credit payments, housing, utilities and other granular but high level categories. Then under each top category there should be sub categories for more detail for the user and more data for the app. Allow users to add sub categories as they wish but as this could provide messy data for the app data collection either try and use it or ignore custom sub cats in the data analysis
