SETUP Setup took me a couple of hours. There were a few issues connecting to the heat hub, this was resolved by moving my Wi-Fi access point closer to the heat hub (the bit that connects to the boiler). The TRV heads were not willing to go into setup mode as easy as the manual suggested. They needed fiddling with a bit more. I live in a three bed brick house and all the TRVs are connected on a weak signal. I have ordered a booster/plug to improve the signal. THE APP It is well laid out and easy to use. It is not as feature rich as the likes of Nest. Scheduling is a little clunky and the ability to copy the schedule between different days does not work. It just copy’s a random schedule and overwrites what you have just spent time setting up. There appear to be no insights with regards to what rooms called for heat and when. The eco mode that should save you money and make the system run more efficiently is either on or off. There are no setting etc. To play with here. It’s black magic without any settings or room insights in my opinion. I would recommend this product due to its pricing but if you need a simple setup and require a feature rich app then it might not be for you. With any luck, they are working on realising the next version and will continue to add features as time goes on. If this is all we can expect for the app then I would be a little disappointed.

Great system, upgraded from Drayton MiGenie, easy to setup, no issues with signal or connection. Did phone customer support because I had a no internet icon, turned out to be controller updating firmware, support were quick to diagnose (it would be good to have these icons or firmware update process in instructions or on FAQ website to save the call). TRV’s very easy to fit and pair. Only downside is the way they read the temps, they all seem to be out compared to room stat, a temp compensation feature on app would be great to be able adjust/correct. (One reads 3-4 degrees higher than the room stat and cant be reset or calibrated to adjust). I am pleased overall and love the commitment to constantly develop firmware and software, improving the system further and ironing out issues.

This is a high potential system but it has some issues with connectivity and crashing. That I can accept. The problem is there is no redundancy built into it so it is not possible to remote restart it and it would not restart itself when it crashes innectin t all devices - just sits there dawdling. In winter it nice left several of my dads crashed it in open state heating thise rooms non-stop and didn’t tell me. You have to physically power it down (oh and it has no power button). The app is ok if a little basic. The truly useful features like notifications about dropped devices or crashed system I logged with them nearly a year ago and which are very easy as the information is already in the app are ignored but they just add useless gimmicky features like history of your temperature or boosting all devices. I don’t think there is Dev team there. If they threw a coupe of hundred to some bored kid they could get all the essential functionality in weeks.

I wasn’t sure whether this system would work as it was to replace a Honeywell ST9400C controller on a Trianco oil boiler. I recently serviced the boiler & upgraded the oil burner control unit, plus smart monitor for the oil tank. Next was a smart heating system. The Honeywell should have been theoretically an industry standard back plate but it wasn’t, not quite anyway. Just needed each wire labelling and swapping over to the Drayton Wiser plate, 10 min job. Powered up, started Wiser Heat app, did initial setup, added thermostat, connected to my home wifi. The thermostat had a set point already and before I was even expecting it the heating came on and away it went! Have easily added schedules and boost tested etc. Away mode set ready. Works excellently so far, very good! Had considered Hive but glad I went with this system. Straight swap for old controller, almost!

I’ve had this system for about a year with 5 radiator thermostats. We have intermittent problems with different thermostats ie it’s not always the same thermostat. Some times a radiator won’t turn off, other times it comes on when it shouldn’t, other times the app tells you the wrong temp and tells you the radiator isn’t on (despite it being red hot). If you reset the valves they start working again, unless you have a low battery then expect to melt! Not ideal when you’ve purchased them to keep a newborns bedroom at an acceptable temperature during winter (and end up with a 25C room due to a thermostat fault). Customer service is poor. The first time I called they said the signal from the hub to the thermostat wasn’t strong enough so suggested I buy a range extender (without them investigating whether it was a batch fault or anything else). They then send chasing emails every day or 2 irritating the hell out of you. Our issues are intermittent - 3 times in a week but then you can go a month until a problem happens again but with a different thermostat - and obviously during the summer months it’s not my priority to sort it (until my radiator turned on in 23C weather). I eventually caved and bought a range extender but surprise surprise we still get issues. Oh and I’ve never been able to load a heat report on the app.
