VR Matkalla

The VR Matkalla app is a helpful travel companion for every turn of your train trip. You can use the app to buy single and multi-tickets for VR’s commuter and long-distance traffic. Our latest update enables you to buy single tickets for connecting services operated by HSL, when your trip begins or ends within the capital region. Train tickets and receipts of purchases are conveniently stored in the app, in addition to being sent to you by email. Payment has been made easy by offering online bank payment, being able to save card details or use Mobile Pay or Siirto. With the VR Matkalla app you are always kept up to date with real-time information related to your journey. For example, you can see information on the departure and arrival time of your train, as well as any changes during the journey. In addition, the app includes information for the services offered on the train, such as whether it is an accessible connection and if there is a restaurant car. The seat map gives you the possibility to select where you and your travel companions want to sit. You can also upgrade your seat to Ekstra class or to the upstairs of the restaurant car.
