VERO

I’m trying Vero because I am looking for a replacement for Path, which is shutting down. Our extended family had used Path for 5 years now to have a “private” social network, and it looks like Vero has similar possibilities. Compared to 4-5 other social networking apps I have tested, Vero’s level of polish, functionality, and stability is far ahead of any of the others! One thing I liked about Path that seems to be missing on Vero is the ability to create customized locations, such as “naming” our home so we can check in there, and so family can check in as well when visiting. The other glaring issue is that the app will NOT run on my iPad Pro. I understand that you might not create a separate iPad app, but I would still like to be able to use the phone app on the iPad! Meanwhile, I am getting all my extended family to download the Vero app and set up accounts. I hope that Vero will consider the two issues that I mentioned as they continue to make updates and improvements.

Updated review: took a couple months off of Vero, came back and very impressed by how quickly the team worked to resolve a lot of issues. So far, Ive been loving the real interactions, recommendations from others, and just the true feeling of collaboration and community. I’ve dropped all other social media platforms because I’m sick of the bots, fake commenters, people who follow and quickly unfollow for my followers— so weird, btw, and just complete disconnect or overly competitive. With Vero, I haven’t had such experiences. There’s a few thirsty self-made male/female models that play the IG games, but nothing too excessive. I’ve been preaching about this app to all my friends and coworkers so much that they think I work for Vero- hire me! Lol Old review Feb 2018: I’m trying to give this app a shot but since downloading it, I’ve been receiving nothing but “Internal service error” messages. I was on the app for only 10mins and it drained my battery from 90% to 60%. I’ll try to utilize the app a few more times before giving up since simple searching or displaying everything in the dashboard area takes forever or never loads. Hopefully this app will get it together because it’s a great concept just a faulty system.

First and foremost I definitely see the potential in this app! But there are definitely some kinks that need to be worked out here and there as well. I feel like it the UI isn’t bad, but it’s not attention grabbing. Just very functional. I’m not getting “hooked” on scrolling through my timeline like I would if I was scrolling through IG or Twitter. Also the hashtag suggestions always get wonky on me. Half the time I start typing in a hashtag, the suggestions that it gives me are misspelled versions which is kinda strange. If it isn’t the misspelled version being suggested then it’s not showing a suggestion at all for the most part. With all of that being said, I still give it 4 Stars. I really how they streamlined the sharing is (from books you’re reading, to music you’re listening to, to links for other content, etc). I also really like the content being put out on Vero now too. Definitely some talented content creators out there doing their thing!

*Update: thanks to vero team, app is working greate right now. it's so smooth and i can't see bugs like before. at the end, my problem with support team is completely solved and they answer and support so much better now. here's your 5 star. i have been using this app for one mouth. at first it was all good. app was working smooth and fast. i have sended some emails in that time to support team and they have answered very fast. i rated this app 5 in that time because I really loved it. but now i have to change my rate to 1 star because 2 big problems: first is the app. I'm using the last version and still i see freezing screen usually. so many lags and bugs and it's really annoying. second is support team. they didn't answer my emails and it feels really bad. it shows that maybe they really don't care about users.

For the first time, I feel safe sharing my work as an artist. I’m able to connect with other artists, too, and I was also quickly verified on Vero, something I couldn’t ever get to happen through other platforms no matter how much proof I provided! I don’t feel crowded by ads and big businesses that get catered to while small handmade gets taken for a ride and pushed to fork out tons of dollars just to reach their own following. There’s no more games, there’s no more being overwhelmed every time I take a moment to pause and share my work or just a bit about my day. The connections feel more genuine, and I feel more in control of my data and reaching my base. Thank you, Vero, for being trustworthy, honest, and so seriously wholesome and respectful of us artists. It means a lot to finally have a safe space.
