The App is helpful. It’s well set out and self explanatory, and compared to some Apps much more mobile phone friendly. Easy to check your balance: it’s got a helpful graphic that’s shows what you have used of your credit limit and what you can still use, so no maths needed. Also shows you your minimum monthly payment and the date due although you can repay any sum you want after covering the monthly payment. The repayment options are easy and very quick to use and once you’ve entered a card once you won’t have to again. Do be aware though it takes up to two days for a payment to register so if you’re intending to use your card within that amount again do make a payment a couple before you need to use that sum on your card again. If you have any problems the phone number to ring for Vanquis is displayed so no searching about looking for it. You can get s full digital or paper statement monthly too which explains any charges e.g after using abroad, or interest on your card. The only tiny issue I’ve found irritating is I once accidentally missed a payment and it locks your account. I had to call them: once I had it immediately unlocked and I could make payment of the amount of my choice. To be fair the phone is answered really quickly and it was dealt with easily but if I had one minor gripe that would be it but not enough to loose a Star over 😄... so five stars: the App is pretty much idiot proof which suits me fine...

Signed up for my Vanquis credit card, was accepted, got my phone call straight away to finish the last bit of my application, spoke to a very polite and helpful man who talked me through everything I needed to know, my card and pin arrived in the time frame given, downloaded the app which was the easiest and most straight forward app to use, easy and quick to make payments, keep an eye on what you’ve spent, your balance, and what’s owed, but with their ‘£10’ repayment a month I mean you couldn’t ask for a less greedy money grabbing credit company, unlike others whom Wack your interest fees up if a payment isn’t made but they don’t show an amount of which has to be paid ‘monthly’ or weekly whatever it may be unlike vanquis. Couldn’t be more happy. And would recommend any one looking for a credit card for what ever reason to use them! If your payments are made of ‘£10’ a month the offer to up your credit spending limit. So what more can you ask for? A company who looks after its customers, No hidden fees or information which unlike other companies don’t inform you off that later catches you out down the line!! So if your wanting a credit card even if it is to build your credit score don’t be caught out by the other companies! Go to vanquis!!

If you’ve had even a little experience of learning how to pay for you bills online as I have this past year. Then you probably had some simple straight forward experiences setting each company’s payment system, with the required customer payment banking details. With so pretty awful experiences of confusing websites to go round in circles with too. So finding the Vanquis telephone helpline waiting time was considerably quicker than you would expect, compared to the other big companies queue waiting times I’ve experienced recently, Vanquis wins hands down. I thought paying my account each month couldn’t be more simple and convenient this way. Then I was told about the Vanquis app. It wasn’t as I’d expected. It wasn’t confusing at all to use, it was just natural to navigate around this app, even for an “almost an old codger” like me. And it’s more convenient and even faster than paying by a phone call. Give it a try. I’m glad I did.

Ignoring that this app runs on iOS but doesn’t support Apple Pay (why??), the app is fairly solid, responsive, and doesn’t take an age to load/sign in. On the niggles (Apple Pay lacking for one), you can’t register a payment card until after your first month of using the Vanquis card as it will not allow you to pay anything above the stated current balance. If you have pending payments you want to deal with, tough, wait till they’re confirmed. If you want to get ahead and put money on the card, also tough, the app won’t let you. If you make a second payment to the card whilst you’re waiting (4-5 days) for your last payment to clear... well, the app lets you and it appears successful, but in reality it ignores it and doesn’t process this payment all. You also can’t easily work out your balance after each transaction, that isn’t shown in the app - only the current balance and a list of processed and pending payment amounts, so a bit different than any other banking/financial app I’ve used before. But as the primary means to manage my card and account, it basically works.

I downloaded the new vanquis app a few months ago . Since then I’ve found it very easy to use on my I phone . It uses fingerprint technology, so no more sticking in PIN numbers . Plus no one can see your PIN number as well . You just put your finger in the phone and hey presto your in . Once your in you immediately see your balance and available credit . Payments are easy to . Just tap the payment button at the bottom of the screen enter the amount and as long as your card details are on record it all happens with the press of a button. Viewing previous statements is also just as easy . All in all it’s the most user friendly credit card app around in my opinion . I have a few other credit cards who also use mobile apps that are not that user friendly. Well done vanquis!! Your interest rate maybe high but your mobile app is fantastic. Peter Bangor Co Down
