I’m not sure if it’s because people who come up with these ideas don’t work in the industry or the ideas themselves are not well thought out.
It’s an amazing idea to have an NFC chip in my helmet (or whatever article of clothing/gear you have) with my private personal data and medical history that can assist medical professionals including first responders in rendering me aide in the event of an emergency.
HOWEVER, privacy is a big concern and a grave overlook by developers. This NFC chip can be read by anyone and is in no way encrypted or secure. Of course, if it was encrypted, only authorized people can access it...and of course would defeat the selling point of the concept for its developer to make money so I feel that this technology was pushed out to market to make money with the guise of public/personal safety!
Why do I say that? Well, the tech is so now that 99.99% of first responders and medical/rescue professionals don’t even know it exists or even to use it because it’s not a standard anywhere!
Next to that, the app is a joke! I mean you can’t tell me you instill public confidence when the first thing I see when I go to “Create profile” in the app is “Medical info deceases & disabilities”!!!!
REALLY? You mean for me to input my “DECEASES”???
Please, please, please at least have your app professionally developed, debugged, and streamlined before proclaiming to be lifesaving anything...!!!!!

We completely agree with you that privacy is extremely important. After extensive discussions with professionals in the industry, we have arrived at the current app version where the user can upload as much or as little information as they are comfortable with uploading. Of course, the more information the user uploads, the more valuable it is for the first people on the scene of an accident. However, one should be aware that this information is then also open to read.
