Trusteer Mobile Browser

Trusteer is snake oil - see Neil Kettle's talk at 44CON 2011 for an excellent dissection of how Trusteer fails to provide any security - but for some banks, it's necessary snake oil. At least on iOS, there's a limit to how much damage this software can do to your system. (As opposed to OS X, where there have been years of constant reports of Trusteer breaking user's systems.)

Trusteer as an application is total trash but they’ve somehow made this applications most basic functions even worse. If you use a bank that requires Trusteer you’re stuck using this useless software but at least 75% of the time I access the website within this application I still get an error message saying Trusteer isn’t active. It’s also incredibly easy to close your window just by trying to zoom in or move around on the website within the browser. Swiping right closes your page and it’s incredibly sensitive. So on the 1/4 chance you do get Trusteer to work ... you’ll quickly close your window and have to start all over again.

This app only works for secure browsing occasionally. Most of the time it simply closes when you try to browse. Trusteer is required by our bank to access our corporate accounts, but the app is absolutely the worst that I have ever had to deal with. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Hate this app. Once in a blue moon it works on iPad. I am switching banks because really annoyed I can’t do online banking on iPad.

Does this even do anything? I hate this program. I am forced to use it by my bank. I travel frequently and can't get it to work on my iPad so I have to borrow a computer and download Trusteer onto a friend or stranger's computer. How rude is that? I spent 2 hours today trying to get this to load on a friends laptop. 3 times. On the second download it said it was installed but still wouldn't work. Called bank support. They suggested this App Store for my iPad. Didn't work on my iPhone or my iPad. We finally started up an old desktop she had to load it on there. Now she is stuck with this program on two computers!
