Once loaded using WiFi, no internet is needed; but satellite coverage improves the experience. It has an inbuilt education system; based on clicking InfoHotSpots, for explanations about anything that is not clear. Icons and texts cover virtually every aspect of the App's functions. In addition the My Trees function allows you to add and list the names of your tree sightings. You can type in notes and record GPS locations. You can select your primary and secondary language from Scientific, English or Afrikaans, but can search through the trees using any of the 11 South African languages. A glossary gives access to botanical words from/used in other more complex publications.
