The calculator app itself works well enough. In fact, to the point that I went ahead and paid to get rid of the ads. It claims to have family sharing, so I paid using my iPad. When using on my iPhone, which is more typical, I still have the ads! And you can’t pay for it again on the phone because Apple figures the app was already paid for. I’ve tried multiple times deleting and redownloading and rebooting phone. Reset purchases from the Settings screen does nothing. I even tried purchasing again direct from iPhone but Apple doesn’t allow and says it was already purchased, so at least Apple is protected the user.

As a longtime HP user, I own many of the physical calculators and even purchased HP’s official 15C app. That app is OK but had some usability issues that HP never addressed, and appears to be abandoned now. When I tried the free version of Touch RPN, I knew I had a winner. The detailed rendering, keyboard feedback and vertical (portrait) layout are just what one would expect in a top of the line product. I purchased the Scientific Premium version and could not be happier. It was an easy decision to delete the HP app. The negative reviews you see here are either critical of the all-in-one version vs separate app approach, or from people who don’t know what RPN is. I have no concerns about the all-in-one version, but I do have a gripe. To say that an app supports Family Sharing when its only purchase option is via IAP is a flat-out scam, and this developer tarnishes its integrity by making such a claim. I wish Apple would put an end to this deceitful practice.

This is a well-designed, smoothly functioning, RPN calculator. I have not done a thorough test on accuracy but it appears to be accurate. Because the calculator is free, unobtrusive ads run in the upper right hand corner. Even the ads are well designed to be visible but not in the way. The designer has a flair.

Was my go to for a calculator but it does not display correctly on iOS 13. Is this app still supported? I paid for it so I have to assume it will be fixed. Update on previous review: Back to 5 stars after the iOS 13 fix. Thank you. 🤓

I have spent quite a bit of time with the software engineering calculator, the 16i. I have discovered ZERO problems to date, BUT of course, as a software engineer, I have to admit that guarantees ZERO. So far, it appears to be an excellent, quality product. I'm glad to know the HP-16C lives on.
