The Ukulele App

The problem with learning math is that it's a different language all together, & your teacher is so fluent they forget to translate sometimes. Several of these videos just need a little more. The 'How to tune' video is basically just common sense -- but is there a way to find the next note once a string is tuned? (What fret would help you find the tuning of string 3 after you've achieved string 4? Etc.) Also, better video descriptions would be nice. What will you be covering (notes, strumming, specific skills, etc.), 'cause watching the first couple minutes of a handful of videos just to find that none is what I'm looking for can be tiresome. I would like to say, though, that this app is mainly used by my kiddo to learn, & that some older kids/folks might not need as much guidance, but this would be so perfect if it was just a touch more accessible.

So like many here I had immediate issues with there being no sound in this app. I was SO disappointed because even before getting a uke I really liked this guy for his lessons. He's fast paced but a good instructor. Now, the app is still flawed, some of the videos will make it just go black when you try to watch them. At that point force close and start it over. HERE ARE THE IMPORTANT PARTS: 1) to select things you need to essentially long/hard press them, idk why. 2) FOR THE SOUND: if you have the ringer switch on your phone turned off, turn it on and BOOM, sound! I literally found this out about 3 minutes ago off of just guessing! This app is still flawed but I think these take care of the big issues. Hope this helps!

Wonderful! Now, i upgraded to PRO hoping i'd have access to baritone stylings.. no dice (and that is just my frustration) that few to no uke applications are designed with the baritone in mind. Tunings, scales, progressions. I found 1 app with all standard tunings and custom tuning options, but no progressions or scales. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but it's tedious work sometimes transposing, although it's making me a better player nonetheless. Sure, you'd charge more for the app, but you'd also hopefully garner other players that otherwise might overlook a great application (who would then come to find out down the road that an extensive app such as this or another cannot be found anywhere with baritone stylings). It would be great to see this added.

I payed about a dollar or so to get full access and it was worth it. You only pay once so even better. The app shows you the different multiple scales, fingerings for chords and many alternatives. My favorite feature is the chord finder. If you are playing a chord but don’t know the name, it’ll tell you and it’s multiple names. It’s really helpful for those who want to play by hear. The ukulele teacher also does videos on YouTub and you can access any video within the app. Out of all the ukulele apps this one is the best. (There’s many more features but the tools is the one I use the most and the most helpful)

Overall I’ve been enjoying this app. I’m new to uke... and music for that matter. So this has some simple step by step instructions for me to follow. However, it seems there are some issues with the coding. iPhone 6 on the latest iOS and the video will play but no sound. If I connect to Bluetooth I get sound and video. But it will frequently freeze or be out of sync. So I either have video but no sound or sound on external speaker but glitchy video. This happens regardless of WiFi or cell data. An up or two should (hopefully) resolve this. Like I said- good content but delivery is flawed. Patience is key.
