THE BLADE

This is way better than the last version, although it loads initially faster it slows to a crawl for the games to load. And the games need an additional upgrade- the Sudoku gets slower and slower as you proceed to the win. And it shouldn’t fade so far when you get a row or square completed- too hard to see. Also needed is a daily crossword puzzle that can be worked online. Keep up the good progress.

NewsSlide is a good start, but not yet a newspaper. It is convenient and gets by on an iPhone. It is usually delivered on time and the push notification is a nice addition. But there are many issues. It is an edition like the printed Blade. Therefore it is not a live document. News delivery apps like CNN are active and updated regularly. By noon NewsSlide is old news. The online Blade is better for news in the late morning. NewsSlide is not archived and sometimes I travel. If I mid a day I can’t go backwards. The eBlade solves this issue. The photos do not blow up or turn. I see NewsSlide on an iPhone 6s. I’m not planning on using a tablet. In addition the captions are tiny and awkward to access. The photo galleries are often incomplete. I know the Blade has more pictures than are placed in NewsSlide. The purpose of a digital edition is expanded content. This is far from the case in the Blade’s NewsSlide. The Post Gazette’s NewsSlide version has far more content. It is more impressive. I’ve watch this evolution since I first learned of the concept. Don't waste your time. Note the 5 star reviews end with #explore419 - most likely written by the app developer. And BTW, #explore419 is written by the same app development company that made this app. So sad. This is just a bad app that never improves. Now the old app had changed making it pretty useless. Blade is going south and fast. New version just as bad as past ones. can't get past the first ad after second story. Im sure the Blade people are not very happy with their app developer. Also, TV commercial is misleading as it shows you get a list of stories if you turn your phone. Wrong. Still can't see list of news stories. Ad are worthless if no one uses the app. List the stories please so we can select what we wish to read. I deleted the recent update. Anytime you see an app with a lot of 1 stars and almost the same amount of 5 stars, means the publisher is paying an agency to write the 5 star reviews. There are over 60 reviews not 17. Developer reset the count to minimize the 55 1 stars.

I get all the latest news at the swipe of my thumb, its awesome to be informed of all news in my area and around the world and I recommend this app for everyone who is on the move like me and my family is thank you for making my life just a lil more convenient in these busy times we live in now. #SevenTheRev

This is a terrible app. We only get the paper version three days a week. The app doesn’t work! The articles won’t load. I can read it from my email, but of course not all articles are there. So I go to the online paper and have to maneuver to read the whole article. Hate, hate, hate it. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled. It will work for one time. Then back to the same thing. The articles won’t load. Plus the whole newspaper is not included on the app. This needs dramatically reworked if you want to keep me as a customer.
