These devs are working hard to make this product world class. I had issues and it was not working so I emailed them and they worked tirelessly to resolve it. People need to understand how much time and effort goes into creating these apps so hang in there if they don’t respond. They did for me right away but I feel like we shouldn’t always expect such quick turnarounds with everything in life. Nonetheless, they succeeded tremendously and I can’t thank the team enough for their service and the value this app provides. Cheers!

I really want to like this app. Often when scrolling through my newsfeed I would like to hear the article. I downloaded and got started without incident, but honestly, could not get through the first article due to the voice. I worked on the setting voice a few more times with what I thought was success, but was unable to find a voice that worked for me. I think it’s not even the voice that is my problem as much as the total lack of recognition and use of breaks and pauses of punctuation while it reads. I can’t seem to comprehend what I’m hearing like I do while reading it myself or listening to a real voice. I made it a few minutes into the article before I simply deleted the app. I would give the app five stars for everything but sadly the reading voice is what suffered me the most.

This app is great if you want to get whole articles read and you don’t want to stare at a screen all the time. It takes a while to get used to the voice, but once you do, it’s a really nice program. My favorite voice was a British female voice, but it disappeared with the latest iPhone update. I listen at time and a half, and that feels just about right.

This app does everything described and provides a better UI experience in the settings than the nearest competitor (speech central) but that’s about the only thing that isn’t substantively the same between the two. I’d rather pay a higher onetime cost than add yet another subscription to the host of services where subscription is the only option and no alternative service exists. So in short: it’s a 5 star app for functionality but a higher onetime price is better than an ongoing subscription.

I have to commute for over an hour a day so I'm always looking for new sources of hands-free entertainment. Podcasts are great, but I also read a lot of articles for work, so Motoread helps me get a jump start on those during my commute. I also like listening to various blogs and news articles with it. Very handy and love the new update where I can change the voice!
