Subway® - Official App

I think the app is good however introduced at a time when all prices have increased including the meal deal cost but you can’t see this cost in the shops. Menus have been changed slightly and costs increased. All cookies have gradually been reduced in size to the point there now not worth buying. I switched to subway a few years ago instead of using mc Donald’s however mc Donalds are now getting the upper hand again I.e. coffee at 99p. Shame I feel your on the verge of ruining all the good work you’ve done.

Haven’t used the app to purchase yet, but given the app pestered for app rating within seconds of installing the app then here goes. 1) Nag message asking for App Store feedback is a pest. Better ways to ask for this than a modal dialog the user is forced to dismiss. 2) It’s a non-native app with an embedded web browser, so navigation isn’t as fluid as a proper iOS app, spacing of content and buttons is inconsistent, icons non standard, there’s a fixed header bar which just wastes screen real estate, and so on. Graphics itself look fine. 3) I like that the app can add to Apple Wallet. More convenient. Though resolution of graphics is low compared with everything else in my Wallet and I wished it just showed “Subway” in the Wallet list instead of trying to squeeze in “Subway Rewards”.

After 25 minutes I was finally able to make an order and place it for collection at my local store. It was only 2 subs to take advantage of the buy one get one free offer. 25 minutes! The user experience during the ordering process is shockingly bad. I ended up with 3 subs instead of two in my basket. The ingredients we mixed up between the two subs. Then when I went to pay with PayPal it simply failed about 3 or 4 attempts to take payment. I spent probably 15 of those 25 minutes staring at a spinning circle. The remaining 10 were trying to navigate a bad UX and edit incorrect orders. I won’t be using it to pre order again. I could have walked into town, placed an order, wait while I listen to an aggravated staff swear at their manager on the phone (happened last time I was in there) and walked back in quicker time than it took to use the app.

Was expecting a loss of some important feature as is so often the case with new “improved” apps but this one seems to be the exception. Faster loading and I can still add the sub card to Apple wallet. Only bug I’ve experienced is that currently geolocation doesn’t work - even after allowing the app to access location data I have to manually enter where I am to find nearby stores.

This app is rubbish plain and simple. Its like an incredible hard and naff video game. If you can actually find the slightly hidden and unitive menu for ordering food, enter your location (town/city btw and don’t expect geolocation to work) navigate through the extremely slow menu to determine you order (it regularly hangs on ‘please wait’ and requires a restart) you’ll make it through to the payment screen. At this point you can select PayPal (which appears to be the preference given it’s prominence), I entered my details (cue very annoying ‘cookies pop up’ repeatedly appearing and getting in the way) only to have an ‘unexpected error’ on four separate occasions. I use mobile apps for shopping all the time for multiple brands and product types of all those I’ve used, this is by far the very very very worst I have ever used! Buggy slow and most importantly a complete failure at allowing you to purchase goods! :(
