I started playing this game in version 2.1. After playing for a few days the main issue i was unable to progress in the storymode temporarily. Actually it was possible to progress but there arent many explanations on how to get things (without IAPs) so it was quite confusing for some time. Specifically i had trouble because of the lack of ascension stars. There are a few obvious options to get them with IAPs / real money (either buying a pack including them or buying the vip season pass which contains a few with various other items only if you unlock them by playing enough. There is a free way which is by using chests but they are rather rare so i only just got one from chests from event rewards. The importance of these ascension stars is quite significant because every car starts with either 100cc, 200cc or 300cc and after 9 upgrades, the upgrade to the next 100cc requires an ascension star. So if you use the first one you get on a 100cc starting car you get stuck at storymode’s 294cc recommended track (or a few tracks later if skilled) since that car only gets to 290cc at most unless you find another ascension star to upgrade it. Of course you can use a car starting at 300cc and able to reach 390cc but those cars are much slower to obtain and are generally from events/season rewards so you might not have it when you get your first ascension star. Since there is a free way to obtain them its not too bad but there are a lot of cars in the game so they might be considered “slightly too rare” and when you get one you might have trouble choosing which car to use it on. The main problem i had was i didn’t know how to get more (until i got one in a chest from an event) so i was rather confused and almost put off from playing more.
The game itself really is quite fun though and is somewhat similar to other kart racing games. There is a track builder too which is fun to use (if you ignore/workaround the small amount of unimportant/visual bugs). The looks of the game are also quite good but its a shame there aren’t any scenery specific objects since sometimes in the track builder your tracks get rather... plain since it just has lots of trees and mountains (or whatever is part of that theme) in the background with no decorations too close to the track aside from the tunnels over straight roads that dont match the theme. The controls of the track builder to a while for me to understand but they are pretty convenient once you know how to use them which is nice.
Overall its a nice game, and fun to play, even if its a bit confusing at times.

Hello AJ, thanks for your review :D
Is always great to read your opinion and suggestions!
About the sensation that your time and investment in the game wasn't respected: we're deeply sorry we caused such feeling. The game needs to evolve so it becomes a more interesting experience and so we can keep developing it. One of the critical parts of the process happens when the changes affect things players have already done, and this update is, indeed, a deep one, with the removal of Oli's Cauldron and the addition of MULTIPLE CARS. We try our best to keep the players who have supported us like you did as happy as possible, and that's the thing we took topmost into account when we designed the conversion between what you had and what you now have. That doesn't mean we made things 100% free of mistakes.
Thus, I ask you to, please, give this update a chance and tell us: what you did get and what would you expect to get in the new 2.2 update.
