Spell Book (D&D 5e)

This app is a real time saver! It eliminates the need to flip through the PHB for spell references, even including expansion spells from other 5e books. Also, I love the "Favorite" feature, allowing you to have even faster access to your spells. If I could change anything though, it would be adding have the ability to create different characters within the "favorite" tab, so that I can create a character under that tab, click on him, and assign favorite spells for him, and then have a different character with different spells. This way, when you go to the "favorites" tab, you tap on the name of the character you want, and it takes to to a new screen or something, where you can look at just his spells. This way his spells aren't just in a jumble of spells used by multiple characters for multiple D&D sessions. The other thing I would change would be making so that you can sort the spells on your favorite list, either by Lv., or school of magic, or alphabetically, or by ritual tag(so you can tell by the list without tapping which ones are rituals) This way, they aren't just in a random order. This is helpful for characters who can know a ton of spells (or constantly switch out spells) like a cleric. Lastly, some of your lists have the same spell on the list twice. Just thought you should know.

I love how all the spells are already in the app unlike other apps where you have to find the spell info yourself. That said there are a few things that I think if fixed would make this app eclipse all others of this kind. You can set favorites but you can't sort them other than favoriting the spells in the order you want them to appear. I would be nice if favorited spells were sorted by level. It would be cool if you could have different favorites for different characters. Finally I think a graphic update would be awesome. I like the clean look I just wish the pictures didn't look like clip art.

I started playing DnD with 1st edition and have played every major rev since (except 4, which we subbed with Pathfinder). This app appears at our weekly game table and is an invaluable ready reference. I would recommend that the sourcebooks be added in the spell lists and/or descriptions. Some DMs build their campaigns around a restricted list of books, and having the ability to sort those “unapproved” sources out would be helpful. Not a huge issue with 5e...yet...but a thought for the future. This is a great resource to understand anew or refresh the haggard brain on spell descriptions, effects, duration, casting time, all the essentials to effortless and smooth play. Keep up the great work!

Love this app. Super helpful when I’m a player and I can’t remember a spell (granted, paladins have like 5 spells), and it’s twice as helpful when I’m GMing and my players are trying to explain a spell they’re using. The only two issues I have is that there are a couple of spells missing, but these are Xanathar spells, so I’m a little less salty about that. The biggest issue I noticed is that some spells have the wrong casting time. Branding Smite is listed as a full action rather than as a bonus action. A double check and fix of the casting times for the spells would be really helpful. Other than that, great app! Highly recommend it.

First, the app is a major time saver and very well formatted. Well worth the small price. Second, I would be infinitely happy with a character tab inside the favorites or just replace the favorites all together. Third, a way to view all the standard 5e spells alphabetically. I'm new to D&D and if I feel like looking up a spell I read or heard about and want to know what it does I'd have better odds going to the handbook first. One more suggestion I just thought of while typing, a minor thing but could be very useful to newer players. instead of having a separate menu for the spell levels, have all the spells of all levels under the class together and put sub-categories (going by cantrip, then spell level 1, then 2. Etc.) on the same page/screen. To avoid having to fumble through multiple pages to find the spell you're looking for. Other then those small things 10/10 would buy again
