Smart Group: Email, SMS/Text

Bought this app today. It took me a couple of minutes to setup 3 distribution lists with 20-40 contacts. Easy to set up and edit lists. It integrated with iPhone Contacts, so I didn’t need to type the contacts information. It helps me to keep in touch with every one from my iPhone. I would highly recommend this application.

Crashes every time you try to use any of the functions and email support will not allow you to email them. It blocks you from sending emails or reporting problems! COMPLETE Waste of money!

At&t limits group texting to 10 people with "MMS" messaging turned on. So you have to disable MMS messaging every time you send a group text to more than ten people. I had repeated problems sending group SMS messages. I emailed the support link for this app and all they said was "Each wireless carrier determines the maximum number of SMS recipients". Well thats great. They didn't offer a work around or anything. I had to google search to find answers. This app is designed for the iPhone, and the only wireless carrier for the iphone is AT&T, they SHOULD LIST THE LIMITATIONS OF THE APP UPFRONT! They know that AT&T limits group SMS, but they don't tell you. What shady characters. I would never buy this app again. I want a refund.

I have used several of the group texting apps and they work great but lack the ability to use groups already built in your address book. I was excited that this app apparently had corrected that issue. Alas, it did not. When I create new groups in my Contacts they show up in the app, but are empty (no contacts in the group). And worse, you can't send a message to the groups that are there. You can only send pre-created messages from a list and even in those cases, many of the messages don't get sent. Worst group text app I have seen.
