Slimming World

Absolutely brilliant app. The proof is that I keep remarking to my husband “this app is sooo good”. The daily planner is very simple to use. Love all the recipe ideas which you can bookmark to use later. Love the way you can add the whole recipe in one go to your daily planner without having to type all ingredients. The little HE and syn wheel symbols at the top of planner provides me with a quick visual opportunity to see where I’m at in the day. If the food I’m searching for doesn’t exist I look for an equivalent although I appreciate there’s a facility to add new foods. The only improvement I would like to see is a bar-code scanner as I’ve use this facility on other apps and it does save so much time. Overall though - I’m really enjoying this app. Thank you for developing it.

This app COULD be quite good except for 1 MAJOR flaw and also 1 very annoying flaw. The major flaw is NO BARCODE SCANNER, WW and other weight loss apps have one so why not Slimming World. Reading through the reviews it’s a VERY common complaint and you always respond with some platitudes about passing the info onto your developers and then absolutely NOTHING happens. Like most people I suspect I haven’t got time to stand in the supermarket looking up everything with your poor food search whereas a barcode scanner would make things so much quicker. If your developers are incapable of solving it may I suggest that you get some new ones because this is BADLY letting you down and making your app seem VERY POOR in comparison to others. The other flaw I mentioned is the inability to add activity within the app we are encouraged to take exercise but if you want to add it onto the planner you have to use the desktop version of the site which is pretty pathetic really. Get your act together Slimming World this app is just not GOOD ENOUGH 😡 Re Developer response - where did I say I was enjoying the app for the most part that’s just wishful thinking I never said that. Just the usual platitudes about passing on the need for a scanner that will just be ignored the way it always is - total waste of time.

I’m pleased with the app compared to the old one and think it will help me keep on track better as more user friendly, however these are the enhancements I think still need to be made: The 4 little diagrams that show you how many syns, HEA/B & activity achieved, I keep pressing them to add those things, it just gives info, I think it would help to also be able to add from them as well. Eg, clicking on the activity icon to add an activity A Barcode scanner would also be useful, other apps have had a barcode scanner for years. You may think it’ll be a headache to build up a database behind this, but with WW the more people used it the more the DB grew, as scan an item, if not there it automatically asks for the nutritional info and then it’s added to the DB for future reference. Other than that, a huge improvement and well overdue, thanks SW.

I did group class a while back and lost what I needed and kept it off for a while but it crept back on over the past two years, I don’t have time to go to group, I did join online but there was a million apps to download so I cancelled, the other day I discovered it was all in one app and I could pay through apple... I’m so far loving it but would love to see the following added.. a barcode scanner, the ability to pay monthly through apple, it’s a lot to pay 3 months up front, A finished logging button once you’ve done for the day and when a new day starts it automatically takes you to the new day when you open the app,Being able to add HEA/Bs & syns directly from the icons at the top and being able to connect Apple Watch or similar and track body magic, apart from that I’m very happy that SW is now all in one app

I had high hopes for this improved app after a long break from SW. Real money needs to be invested in developing the app and coming into the 21st century. I know that people love it but compared to the last one I suppose it is a improvement. Why can’t we add food favourites? Why do you have to press search every time when trying to find the food we want to add? Can’t it be more intuitive? Why can’t we build our own recipes? Why can’t we add grams of the serving of food we are eating and points worked out? Why does it always ask if I want to add food or a recipe when adding to the planner for each category of the days and the only recipes you can add is a SW one and there are only 216 showing! What is the point of the community page? It’s a basically a bunch of comments. You should have groups that people can join. Where is the exercise tracker? A water tracker? Barcode scanner? I could go on... This app should be jam packed and so much more. Light years behind the competitor diet app. Go take a look and get some ideas of what people really want. As an online member only (that I had to sign up to for a minimum of three months and pay a lump sum before it switches to monthly billing & is the same cost as attending a group - covid19 restrictions aside) it’s pretty shoddy and expensive. I appreciate that is costs an lot of money to develop an app and put updates through but to me this was not ready for general release.
