Medical treatment guidelines are lengthy and extremely comprehensive. They slow us down when we're searching for a simple answer. There are numerous guideline summaries available, often published by the same organization of the full guideline. This app, Simple Treatment Guides, contains pharmacologic treatment guideline summaries for the most common chronic conditions in the US. This is a great resource for practicing PharmD, MD, and nursing professionals and students looking for guidelines at-a-glance, treatment flow charts, treatment algorithms, and treatment guides even shorter than executive summaries. An example of a potential user is a rotation student looking to confirm the second line treatment for type 2 diabetes. Another example is a physician needing a reminder for when to use colchicine in a patient suffering from an acute gout attack. Chronic conditions covered include Hypertension (JNC8), Type 2 Diabetes (AACE), Heart Failure (ACCF/AHA), Cholesterol (ATP III), Depression, Asthma, COPD, Gout, GERD, Dementia. Created by Sandy Zhang, PharmD and Song Lee.
