Silugen - inspire generator

It helped me have an idea of what to draw next not a specific idea so I can have space to add my own touch which was great because usually when I use reference photos my drawings always seem to lean toward the reference more than my own style. This was very helpful thank you for creating this and and for being open to suggestions! My only comment will be that you be more specific toward the instruction on what these tools exactly do and maybe if you can enlarge the page so we can use the tools and see the changes at the same time. But overall it was great!

When I need a burst of inspiration, I typically will scribble with a fine HB pencil in my Procreate app. Often, my scribbles take on a bit of “muscle memory” and they all begin to look the same. But, this cool app allows the random generator to create, not only starter “blanks” (think “Rorschach’s images), but also mini storylines to get your brain working. It also makes color palettes. The developer also seems eager to improve on the already good app. Thank you for being willing to share this with other creative types. Happy new year! Time for fun; I’m going to draw.

I love this! Thank you for sharing! I recommend this on Sketch Club, the best drawing app. I just want 2 things: Split-view app multitasking, so we can draw while looking at image without saving image. Would like the app to remember 1 or 2 steps back, and have a BACK button next to Generate. Pushing Generate becomes habit, sometimes I push Generate when I do not mean to, and lose good silhouette. Would like to be able to go backwards a step or two. Thank you.

I think this app is great for artists to get some randomness and newness in your work. I would like to see some changes that would make silhouettes more useful. First, the silhouettes usually get cropped off the canvas and that isn’t usually what I need for doing character and object design. It would be better to be able to scale the forms instead of the canvas. Second, having a blendmode that creates cutouts at intersections or lighter values at overlaps would enhance the shapes you can get.

I love things like these, theyre very useful. Though i think this app would benefit from being able to have more, and smaller shapes in a generated image so there can be a little more chaos and noise. As it is the shapes come out very large and solid and it limits the types of inspiration that can be drawn from them. I love how simple it is and how fast it is.
