What are Dolch Sight Words? Dolch Sight Words are a list of 220 Non-nouns (pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs) and 95 nouns that make up over 50% of the text your child will read in Kindergarten through third grade. Most Sight words cannot be easily sounded out (phonetically decoded) therefore being able to recognize these words is essential for your child’s literacy. This game is a great way for your child to recognize Sight Words. It will show your child 4 Sight Words and ask them to pick the correct one. They can play in two modes: Practice Mode - This mode is great for a child just beginning to learn Sight Words. They can select which list they want to study. (Pre-Primer, Primer, First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, Nouns A-G, Nouns H-Z) If they pick the wrong answer it will help them learn the correct one. Play Mode - This mode challenges your child by earning points for each correct answer. Once they complete the current level, they can go to the next. If they make three mistakes they have to start the level over. Your child needs to complete all 7 levels to win.
