Shure PLAY

Pros: nice interface, great EQ with custom presets, easy playlist creation, none of the Apple online services (yes, that’s a good thing), no attempt at recreating the Apple “up next” travesty, accessed music library but doesn’t see playlists. Cons: no iPad version, no apparent way to share playlists or EQ presets between devices So, if one wants to only play back from a phone and needs EQ settings for multiple audio systems this is a solid app with a nice interface. It will not replace the app Equalizer on my phone for when in need EQ presets (eg. Bluetooth speakers) though. Am still stuck with the the Apple app to sync playlists. If this app could get the playlists from the Apple app the way Equalizer does, it would get 5 stars and become my go to playback app.

Crashes and freezes a lot. Tried re-installing after iOS 13 upgrade. But, performance when it works is excellent. Best audio quality especially if you have Shure earphones. Keep bug fixes coming Shure!

It is superior to the built in player in every way supporting even a basic parametric equalizer which come including several different useful presets and supporting several high resolution formats. There are other options that offer more but the ones I encountered cost money, have severe bugs, include ads or some combination.

Great app but it essentially only plays one song at a time before hanging. It seems to be an IOS 13.x issue. Hopefully there will be an update soon. 🤗

ask user to change the rating

while listening to one track I cannot back up and look at the library. So to change tracks I have to quit and reopen the app. I am using an iPhone 7 with newest iOS. I have reinstalled the app and the problem still exists.
