Shadow Bug

TL;DR - it's fun, unless you're doing the challenges it isn't that hard. So I might have lied a little when I said it was simple. Often it is simple to beat the level, but if you want to earn three shurikens on each level you may find yourself playing any given level dozens of times on repeat. But that of course is why I love this game. It is not the easiest plat-former, but it also is not really challenging until you're combing the speed and score aspect. Because of that the "difficulty" of the specific challenge you set for yourself allows for a really nice curve. Finally, it is interesting to listen to (at first, of course all repetitive music gets old), and the large point globes that are hidden allow you to play through a level slowly and methodically to try to find where they are hidden. That is a wonderful mechanic to get people to notice all the little aspects that have went into making this game. If you like this sort of die, rinse, repeat games at all, you will like this one.

This should be an editors choice...one of the most beautiful, fun, action-packed, and innovative games I've played..this is a MUST OWN....one of the best mobile games of 2016.....and I have to update my review after replaying this amazing game. I'm so sad it's finally over, but it was one heck of a ride playing through all the levels - slicing and dicing at high speeds is soooo satisfying....I honestly can't wait to see what these devs do next as they are number 1 on my watch list...Apple should give shadow bug the next indie showcase spot...it's THAT good, guys....an action masterpiece!

Probably the best game I played on my phone. It's a platformer where the main mechanic is a leaping kill to your enemies. You use it to get to areas you couldn't by walking, higher areas cause no jump button, and to get to places faster. Controls feel tight, you are why you mess up. Highly recommend this game and hope it comes to other platforms like the 3ds so that more people can play it.

Honestly, through out the game I found myself charmed. This funny little character was a joy to control and the gameplay was great. With intuitive game design and very effective level layout. However, as the game progressed to its final stage, I found myself frustrated by the same features that, initially, had made this game a great platformer. The controls work against you this time around, in such a way that they lead to the death of the character, many times. The level design also works against you, but not in any way that could be described as fair. I give this game 3 out of 5 stars

Easily in the top 10 platformer games for ios I've played. Its shoved many down the list for me. The only thing that I could say is the background music is boring and monotonous. There are so many great indie stargaze and ambient bands out there who need a jump off point to become famous that theres no excuse for boring music in your game. They may even do it for free, I'd contact bands on sites like Soundcloud even.
