I visited two years ago and I was impressed by how well the app worked and what it could do. When you entered a new room, new contented popped up on your screen. It had videos and interactive maps. Now it’s just a traditional audio guide, where you enter a number an listen to the audio clip. It works fine, but the app seems a bit dated and I can’t understand why SFMOMA had a great app and throw that away. Sad!

Based on the bad reviews, I almost didn’t get the app before my visit to the museum yesterday. It worked fine for me. I was using a cellular connection. I had only one small complaint. When touring the Andy Warhol exhibit, if you accidentally clicked on “next” before you wanted to, there wasn’t a “back” button. The Warhol section of the app was the same as the audio tour you could pay for at the museum for $7 ($4 for members).

I live in SF and am an SFMOMA member. I’ve downloaded and tried to use this app multiple times over the last year Including today for the Warhol exhibit. It crashed multiple times on startup. Further myself and my daughter went to the trouble of downloading all the museum exhibit data into our two phones before visiting. Got to museum and it didn’t work. Only cellular streaming of the narration worked. Don’t bother using this app. I think they want to force you to rent their audio. Guides

I used this today with my AirPods successfully. The content is simply fantastic but I do remember using this a while back where I could keep my phone in my pocket and it would guide me around. I had to rumble with my phone constantly today and it took away from my enjoyment. I wonder what happened.

I tried to use this app today and i couldn’t get it to work with my AirPods. I ended up listening to a few of the audio clips by turning up my volume and using it like a speaker which I thought was distracting to other guests so I stopped after 2 or 3. The few clips I did listen to were okay informationally but I found the background noise in the audio a bit distracting. The whole experience was lackluster. Great idea but poor execution.
