Sermon Toolbox - Illustrations

First off, let me just say that I think highly of this app. It has good illustrations that are very useful. I have already used some illustrations in my sermons and they are good. I like the alphabetical assortment of topics and the additional sermon illustrations and children’s lessons are a good addition (although the children’s lessons should be a little bit longer). So onto the need for improvement. There are two main ways the devs can improve this app. First, more content!!! When I say more content, I am talking about more illustrations for each topic (I’m not necessarily talking about more topics since this app covers most of the main ones). The more illustrations for each topic, the better it will become. This app can easily turn into a 4 star app with simply more illustrations for each topic. Right now, there’s only about 3-5 per topic (some topics have more than this and some have only 1 or 2). The second area is that the app doesn’t rotate sideways. This is really annoying and yet something that should be easily fixed by the devs! The only way you can view this is in portrait mode (vertical) where you are reading the app like a book. It needs to be landscape mode where I can put it side to side with pages (where I write my sermons) or a Bible app so I can study and write things down on one side and read my illustrations on the other side. Developers, please fix this! If these two areas are fixed, this is easily a 5 star app for me! I still like this app very much and I was sooooo happy I could find something like this in the App Store when I got my iPad. This app has helped me in my studies immensely.

Not as useful as hoped. There is not much information with the content. The app costs money, and they want more money for the details. I do not trust the extra costs will be worth the expenses from what I have seen so far.

This app exceeded my expectations. There is tons of content and I especially appreciate the full, detailed commentary on the Revelation.

Please fix the John outlines. All the outlines in it are from the Book of Acts. See below to New Idea for suggestion to fix a problem. It would certainly be much easier to have Matthew done in order like Mark has been compiled. It is hard to go through the entire list to find a Chapter 2 outline near the bottom of the list. Otherwise, a great product for sermon and illustration research. New idea...please fix the Gospel of John. It has the outlines for the Book of Acts in place for the John outlines.

I have it on my iPad and iPhone and it has been such a blessing for my sermons. There are so many topics with quotes and illustrations I have not seen in other books and sites. I highly recommend it!!!
