SERIST - TV Show Tracker

If you watch a lot of TV, this is one of the best apps for tracking your progress and making a schedule for yourself. Visually it’s perfect and the metadata is very accurate. The updates have been coming so I might have to change the grade, but since iOS 13 launched, it’s crashed every time I try and open it, sometimes taking 3-4 attempts before it stays open. The Haptic Touch shortcut works without fail though; it’s probably one of the most intuitive and helpful shortcuts out of all of my apps as it always knows exactly what I’m trying to “check-in” to, even if it’s not the next chronological episode of a series. I’d say it’s worth a purchase if the bugs continue to get squashed and it can open without issue, but I have faith it will.

Used to work better. Freezes and crashes a lot. Behaves as if it utilizes a lot of resources, more than it needs. I’ve used other tracking apps using larger posters that did not have these stability issues. Among the pluses, syncs with Trakt, provides date and time watched, and is the only app of its type I’ve seen so far that supports additional views I.e. marking something as watched again and tracks that additional date/time watched. It is using Trakt for this as it syncs each viewing to it. Trakt is keeping the info and syncing it back. Also allow you to set exact date and time watched. These features have me contouring to use the app but the stability issues have me using another app as primary and Serist got additional views. Note, unfortunately the film tracking app from the same company does not allow for marking something as watched once it has already been watched although you can check-in, which I assume marks it as watched again once the time passes for the length of the film. If they can address the stability issues, this becomes a 4 star app.

I’ve been using the app for awhile, and it is my fave app with Trakt integration (and I’ve used quite a few). It’s everything I need. Just recently the app has been slow, the images do this sort of flashing thing, and it’s been crashing a lot. I really don’t want to have to start looking for another Trakt app.

Really easy to navigate and keep track of episodes. There are also two good widgets to speedily check-in to shows and to see what's new. Love it! At the moment, no show details appear unless I've already marked it as watched. Everything follows the format of S01E01. So it would be nice to have that fixed.

I’ve been using the app for a few years now, tolerating lots of small annoyances and performance issues. The rework in version 1.9 is a huge improvement on all fronts. Great job, developers!
