Many pediatric dentist use oral conscious sedation as an adjunct to traditional behavior management techniques. Many different drug combinations exist and the dosages within them vary even further. The pediatric dental sedation app is a quick and simple way to verify dosages of local anesthesia, oral sedation, and emergency reversal drugs. Instead of repeatedly calculating medications by hand, this app makes the process as simple as a few button clicks. In addition, all of the important values are located in one convenient location. Calculations are conservative in nature and are based off of generally accepted values. Drugs and dosages are listed below: Lidocaine: 4 mg/kg Septocaine: 5mg/kg Hydroxyzine: 1mg/kg Meperidine: 2mg/kg Midazolam: 0.5mg/kg (oral), 0.2mg/kg (nasal) Diazepam: 0.25mg/kg Epinephrine: 0.01mg/kg Flumazenil: 0.01mg/kg Naloxone: 0.1mg/kg The information is to be used as a tool. All values should be independently calculated prior to administering drugs. Concentration of drugs are listed in the app.
