***UPDATE*** After playing around a bit more, some of the messages are not decrypting correctly. This App initially worked flawlessly, but after a little more time on it, it is having problems. I'm readjusting my review from 5 stars to 3 stars until it is corrected. ***End of Update First, this is a very simple design. Simply enter your message, click "encrypt", create a password for this message (IMPORTANT: every message can have a different PW), choose message delivery means (text, email, tweet, etc), choose whom you would like to deliver to…press send. On the receiving end, when you click on the message, it brings you into the Secret Delivery app and asks for the PW. Then it decrypts the message. Second, I really like the idea that every message needs to have a PW. You can use the same one every time if you want, but more importantly, you can have a different PW for every message. For example, if you are paranoid like myself, you can have the PW include the first letter of the day, date, month, whatever. Third, I wish I knew which encryption algorithm they were using, but I'll take this over sending unencrypted messages any day. Lastly, how is this free? If you miss the free download period and are considering whether to buy this, and you are even moderately concerned that bad people are listening (and they are), then this is the App for you.
This app is fantastic, it's exactly what I needed to send documents to my coworkers without fear of them being read by unwanted eyes. The new iOS 8 Extension for previewing pictures and documents that are sent to you is amazing as well, it make it so much quicker to not have to leave the messages app to view an encrypted picture someone texted you.
That's a very cool idea for protecting messages and files. I personally don't want any of my messages or pictures that I send to be seen by other people. It's even better than a snapchat because without a password it's impossible to open the message/file. Love it!
