Key functionality is missing from this app I can log in easily, and all linked accounts appear correctly as they would if I logged into the website which is good. The interface to top up balances is good and the alert system also appears to have improved (however these cannot be set per linked account so I’m not sure if the single limit set would apply to each individual account or the sum of all of them?). However once my money was deposited in the accounts I can’t find an option to order school meals through the app and had to resort to logging back into the website (and the associated clunky web controls when using iOS devices) to order this months menu options for the kids. Is ordering meals functionality in development? Seems like a major oversight occurred when the functional specifications were defined for this app.

I normally use Scopay on a laptop but was out when I got a call from my daughter asking for a top up. Downloaded the app onto my iPhone and managed to navigate my way around with no problems. Then I got to the checkout and found it totally unusable from there on. The interface to input your card details is way too small and you can’t stretch it with two fingers. You can’t see your card details as you enter them as the screen is white. When you do find your way back to the field it just says “hidden” so you can’t check what you’ve input. Not sure what happened next but my basket was suddenly empty. Ended up texting daughter back telling her to wait half an hour till I could get to my laptop. For an app that’s supposed to allow you to pay for things the most important screen, I.e. the payment interface, is totally unfit for purpose. Thoroughly unimpressed.

I’ve been using this app since before the summer holidays. It has made booking clubs a lot easier for me however there is room for improvement. My children attend breakfast and after school club daily and recently my daughter was off school ill, so of course didn’t attend the clubs. We as parents have no way of cancelling or amending club bookings once made. I had to speak to the office staff to do this. Why can’t this be a function of the app and/or website? I would be happier knowing that I have full control over the bookings and can amend when necessary. When will booking clubs be introduced in the app? Rather pointless having an app when you have to go between two interfaces to make full use of this function.

The app is lovely apart from the place where you process the payment. You are offseting the keyboard in the WebView when it appears this is wrong because the fields go out of the screen and I have to do blind typing implement some sort of checking mechanism for elements in the WebView or at least put the WebView in some sort of UIScrollView so that whatever goes off the screen can be brought back by swiping. Thanks

Overall I’d say this is a nice app: clean, intuitive to get around, and nicer than using the website. However, it is a little clunky in some pretty key places; namely how you pay for things in your basket. The app doesn’t seem to be using Apple’s password manager API so it’s not very convenient (and less secure) when it comes to filling in credit card numbers. The app doesn’t even let you paste anything into a field, even if you have copied it from your password manager. You’re forced to manually type in a credit card number and when you do so, the screen does a weird thing and doesn’t let you see what you’re typing. It’s inconvenient and frustrating. If the app developers could sort this out, I’d give it 5 stars.
