Radiation Oncology Toolbox is an initiative to aggregate and compile the best evidence-based strategies for the prevention or treatment of toxicities secondary to radiation therapy. Toxicities due to radiation therapy are a major source of treatment interruption and cessation and impact patients’ quality of life. Strategies to mitigate these symptoms or potentially prevent them are critical to the optimal management of these patients. We hope that the Radiation Oncology Toolbox will be a step towards identifying the best practices in supportive care for patients The Symptom Pathways in the Radiation Oncology Toolbox are based upon the work and publications of MASCC (Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer). These treatment recommendations are adapted and reproduced here with permission. In addition there are a number of tools including an EQD2 calculator, suggested DVH constraints, CTCAE and RTOG toxicity scales and others. The Radiation Oncology Toolbox is made possible through the generous and ongoing support by the Radiation Oncology Institute (ROI: www.roinstitute.org).
