Pump with Elvie

It would be impossible for me to provide breast milk if it wasn’t for Elvie. I had some issues that made breast feeding very difficult. The freedom to take the pumps anywhere and pump anywhere is indescribable. I can pump while hanging out with family , at a bbq, while driving , anywhere really. No one notices. I’m not isolated to a room plugged into a wall. I had the spectra and Medela given to me as gifts, there is no way I could be plugged into a wall 10 times a day, along with the noise and hassle. Yes , there is a learning curve or do figuring out your shield size , suction, breast positioning , but once you figure it out it’s all a breeze. Elvie was worth every single penny!!! It’s an amazing product and the cost is not surprising now that I’ve used it and understand its value. I give it 5 stars for the freedom it’s given me and the ability to provide breast milk for my new born .

First off I want to say that I absolutely LOVE my Elvie pumps & would've probably given up breastfeeding if I’d had to pump with a traditional pump. With these I can put them on in my bra and continue to live my life (mostly) without being plugged in & that’s amazing! A few minor issues I’ve had with it are that the app is not always very accurate with the amount it thinks has been expressed & I always have to tweak it before I save the session. It’s very easy to do so not a big deal for me. The main issue I’ve had is that sometimes the pump sounds like it’s on and doing its thing, but the suction isn’t right. Now I’ve used these enough to know how to line them up & put them on and it seems to happen randomly so I’m not sure what’s causing the issue. Customer service has been wonderful & sent me some replacement parts but still trying to get to the bottom of the issue. Otherwise, my experience has been great and it’s kept me on the breastfeeding wagon thus far. I would never have put up with the lack of mobility a traditional pump comes with, so these have been a GAME CHANGER! Keep improving your product & keeping up the great customer service because I tell every new mom I know about Elvie and I want them all to have a great experience.

Elvie is an amazing product! If you are looking to be mobile and not stuck to a wall pumping, Elvie is your BFF! I pump while driving to appointments, or sitting at dinner at a restaurant, this little device is such a savior for my sanity! With that said there are still a few improvements that need to be made: 1. It would be helpful to be able to control stimulation and expression level as a pre-set setting controlled by user instead of by manufacturer. An app setting feature so that when each mode turns on, the pumping is the at the level that you can handle. I still jump when Elvie switches to expression mode as it is too strong for me, and have to turn it down immediately. 2. Timer feature needs to turn off the pumps once the timer reaches zero! Notification that timer is up is a great start, but Elvie Team needs to take it a step further. 3. Bottles have wrong oz markings, so makes it unreliable to tell how much you’ve pumped. 4. Elvie app estimate of oz pumped is waaaayyyyy off! It’s a number one feature that is complained about in Elvie reviews. This doesn’t take away from Elvie as a pump, as you can manually then go in and make correct adjustments on your oz pulped. But this feature working properly would make Elvie that much cooler and more useful if it worked properly! Overall, I would buy Elvie all over again even if I knew the above issues have not been yet rectified. But I really hope Elvie Team is on it and will make adjustments soon!

I gave 4 stars for the app because I would like to be able to manually enter pumps into the app. For instance, my pumps died as I was trying to figure out exactly how the long the charge would hold (mine died around 10% life remaining from first charge). When they died it didn’t allow me to continue the session to save the data. Also like another reviewer said, it would be nice to be able to log in an amount from another source, like the haakaa. It would be nice if the app automatically when to the control or status page when connected after the first time. The first time instructions are great, but the app is geared towards the first time user all the time, which seems unnecessary.

I love the Elvie pumps and I want to love this app. While I agree the oz markers on the bottles are off and the estimation of oz pumped are inaccurate on the app, I don’t mind adjusting the info post pumping. However, I keep losing sessions on the app because I remove the pumps before saving the info on the app. This drives me nuts. I have to take care of a baby and work so I need the app to cooperate with me knowing it’s my last priority. I need to be able to go in and manually add pumping info after the matter. I need the app to remember we just had a pumping session and although I forgot to hit save, it should hold onto the info until my next pumping session. If this is a feature that exists, please tell me because I haven’t found it yet.
