PsyCalc

PsyCalc running under Windows has been a long-time standby for me. It's always been quick, accurate, versatile, easy to use and comprehensive without being overwhelming. In 15 years, I've never seen anything that can touch it for either practical everyday utility or impressive accuracy. Now that I have PsyCalc on my iPhone, there's one less reason for me to have to boot Windows on my Mac. That saves me time, not to mention the fact that, as an iPhone app, PsyCalc now goes with me everywhere: building inspections, HVAC system diagnostic visits, water damage investigations, thermal imaging investigations of building exteriors, client meetings, overseas investigations, secure facilities in which I cannot boot my laptop... the works. For those who've been using PsyCalc for many years, you'll find it the same steady, straightforward and reliable performer it's always been on the PC. For those who have always used only a Mac and never had access to it before, you'll find PsyCalc a real delight to use. On the PC it's always been justifiably legendary for it's Mac-like ease of use, and the iPhone/iPad version lives up to that excellent and hard-won reputation.

I've used the PC app for years, so was happy to see it show up in the app store. Nifty interface for a sophisticated app makes it quick and easy to use. What makes it special, though, is that the app is a powerful program with capabilities far beyond other programs. For me, I need to calculate air properties at temperatures in ovens of up to 500 F, and this app can do it. Most apps are for HVAC, and so only work for typical room temperatures. The clean, simple interface is a bonus -- for the first version out of the gate, it has a polished feel that exceeds expectations. Well done.

I purchased this app because I couldn't find a good way to get good thermodynamic information that I needed for doing drying calculations. There are many excellent features, and when I had a question, the author was back to me the next day with an answer. If you need this kind of data...this is the program for you!

I've used this program for over 10 years and was excited to see it available for the iPhone. The results are accurate and identical to the desktop version. It exceeds all my expectations. Great product!
