Pre-number Category Sorting

There are two modes of play to choose from- "voice prompts on" or "voice prompts off". I really like how in the "voice prompts on" mode, the shapes are identified using the correct math terminology. For example, the kite is called a rhombus (not a diamond). Other shapes included in app are square, hexagon, octagon, triangle, rectangle, crescent, circle, oval, parallelogram, and star. I also like how some "real world" objects are included in the shape matching/sorting. The app is good for teaching early matching/sorting skills and basic properties of matter. Includes basic properties to sort by (shape, color, size-big/small, quantity-more/less). Would like to see a few more objects added, to include 2-3 objects to match to each pocket chart row.

I love using this with my students to help build their geometry vocabulary. I espeically like how it says the name of each shape as you match it. The color one doesn't do this, but at that point they know what they are working on. I also like how it also incorporates real objects into shapes (like pizza is a triangle, stop sign is octagon.) It's simple and moves quick enough that it keeps kids engaged!

This is a great app for beginning concepts. Love the pocket chart concept, just like in a real classroom. Bright colors, clear directions. I like that you can turn the voice on & off. Would have liked to see a way to get back to the main menu, changes in the position of the pictures on the cards and more concepts. Would also like to choose which concept to work on first or to do them in order or randomly so if there was a specific concept you were working on, you could start with that one. I do like that real world objects are used for matching the shapes. Think this is a solid app for beginning math concepts and will gladly recommend it.

This is a very simple and user friendly App! Young children can easily match shapes with either a voice prompt or without. I like the fact that as the game goes along, the shapes get more difficult, such as matching a stop sign with a different angle of an octagon. While some of the shapes are more difficult to match, they are all age appropriate. Overall, good App!

What a great app for teaching early math skills of category sorting. Colorful graphics are used in matching shapes, colors, few, many, big, and little. The user has the choice of using a vocal prompt or not. I like the use a pocket chart for the students to move their correct answer in....just like they would do in class. Cannot wait to use this great app with my students!
