The device itself is great and can control high-powered appliances. However, this app is always refreshing and sometimes it takes too long. I don’t understand why it can’t run in the background, or at least give us the option to allow or disallow it. I would’ve bought more of the device, but I’m ditching it because similar models (like Urant and Green Dot)are more fluid and run in the background.

I use the app/plugs for the most basic needs: setting on/off timers for decorative lights, the Christmas tree, etc. I have several of the plugs around the house... they work great, were really easy to set up, and using with the app is really nice. I’ve never had to try anything more sophisticated but for my needs it does the job just fine. My only complaint is I wish it would at least offer an option to use 12-hour time instead of 24-hour time. I always have to count on my hands to remember what’s what; very annoying. Otherwise, I’m very happy with the app and the devices!

The app works fine for basic on/off timer schedules, but if you would like to include motion sensors or temperature sensors, you’re going to be disappointed. The lack of IFTTT support means devices controlled by this app won’t integrate with your other smart home devices. For example I can’t program my SmartThings temperature sensor to turn on the greenhouse heater when the temperature drops below 45 degrees. Every other smart device app at least allows you to do this with IFTTT if not directly. I really love the 8 Zettaguard S31 smart outlets I bought that use this HomeMate app, but had I known the limitations I would have bought something else.

This app work well and has a great UI, but I don't have an option to reverse my curtain motor assignment. So I 'open' is 'close' and 'close' is 'open'.. which is a little annoying. A screenshot of the instructions I was provided, showed a button for this, but seems to have been removed...

Very hit-and-miss. We have three smart cameras around the house, and half the time the app says the cameras are offline or have a network error. To add to it, when a firmware update came up, only one camera updated without issues. The second caused a bunch of fuss but eventually updated, and the third never updated even after resetting the device and my phone.
