OnPoint Mobile

I’ve been using OnPoint’s online banking for a while and feel like the mobile app has finally caught up with other financial apps in terms of convenience and usability. It doesn’t have all the same functionality as desktop access (ordering checks, viewing certain tools, etc.), but it has DEFINITELY improved over the last couple of years. I used to get locked out of my online banking frequently (switching between mobile and desktop access would set off some sort of internal alarm 😒) and then have to go to a branch to reset my account, BUT that hasn’t happened since they updated the security protocols (coincidentally around the time it became possible to use a fingerprint for login). So I can definitely say (with some relief) that the app has become much, much more convenient to use than ever (believe me when I say it would have been 2–3 stars a couple of years ago!). I’ll happily upgrade my review to five stars just as soon as it has more of the same account tools as the desktop version.

I use this to transfer money between accounts to reduce paperwork & check my balance. I can find locations & check their hours too. Awesome app!!! Please expand with banking regulations and customer questions/answers. Your manager is unquestionably unquantified I’m currently looking to leave. I asked her personally for a $10,000 withdrawal & to keep it discreet. We were in her glass office she understood my concerns of privacy. She left & came back in a rush with another employee holding it in her hand. They exchanged words loudly walking in she stood behind her desk waving it. Standing for some time she even fanned it several times stating this was not that much money & she regularly has request for large withdrawals. That should have been a hint towards professional problems. I had asked for an envelope prior to her leaving getting the withdrawal and once again she waved the stack looking for the envelope. Not finding one she left the room to get one. Her employees lack knowledge and ability to be discreet talking loudly & holding the money high. They don’t know banking protocol & have to ask for the answers. Their are several good tellers & I only go to them or if unavailable I leave. I’m looking for another bank & if there are many as she states making large withdrawals then you have a problem. I don’t want problems because my private banking is blatantly displayed.

The app is great for mostly everything you need to do. Check accounts, make transfers, deposit, make payments on other accounts or loans. I would like to see a couple more options. On other banking apps I have been able to preview certain account balances without logging in, like how much my credit cards has on it for example, and I really liked that feature. One thing that has really irritated me about this app- not sure if it was a glitch or what but it doesn’t always update with the current balance of accounts. I have one account where I use it as a weekly allowance as part of my budgeting, so I check it all the time and it didn’t update once for 4 days. Thinking I still has money in the account I kept spending and it over drafted me! Even after that happened it still didn’t update until I logged onto a computer THEN it updated on my phone. Besides that I think it’s great

The redesign of this app is miles better than it's predecessor. The use of FaceID is a nice touch as well. Basically anything you can do in Mobile banking you can do via the app. One issue though, they REMOVED the ability to pay your credit card bill. Well, technically you're still able to, but all the app says is "For credit card bills, use the account transfer function." Alright OnPoint, that's all well and good, except there's NO indication that the transfer goes through, or that the bill has been paid for. This is my credit we are talking about, I need to know if my bill has been paid. It needs to be clear and it should NOT have just been removed as a separate function in the app. I'm bewildered as to how this change happened. I just want peace of mind knowing my bill has been paid.

I am genuinely surprised that they managed to make their app worse! The old app was very rough around the edges, and still didn’t even offer proper screen support for an iPhone 6 in 2018! Yet, it was functional and reliable. They then made the extremely questionable decision of creating a new separate (yet identical) app instead of simply updating the one that already existed, and then forced us to download it. The interface is technically more modern, but still not well done. Buttons routinely do not respond, mobile deposit is borderline unusable, and the overall scale and design of text and content is poorly thought out. I am deeply disappointed with this app. I literally need it to do two things, and it can barely handle that. The only saving grace is that they finally added support for biometric login, but for some reason it requires you to press a “Touch ID” button (which again doesn’t consistently respond) before using it, and that really doesn’t make sense.
