OFFTIME - Away Mobile

Great app!! Love the long ad punishment built in. Waiting 4 hrs to use the app when exiting before is kinda intense though. Also should transfer to Bluetooth devices connected to the phone to restrict music or other distracting noises playing in the background. For example, an Apple Watch connected to the phone can still be used even when OFFTIME is running so there should be something in the app restricting things like that

My objective review The app has a Pavlovic way of conditioning you not to use your phone when you have decided to set off time. Using ads to punish you for stopping your off time is fine, however punishing you for closing out of the app while the ad is playing by disabling the app for four hours is a bit ridiculous. Maybe 5 minutes to make sure people are sure about their decision (such as texting a friend to meet up for studying), but 4 hours is too much. My minor suggestion is to improve the Timing feature. Still not sure as to whether it’s setting a specific time that it will remind me to get off, or whether it’s setting a specific amount of time away. Overall, it’s a great app for keeping people off their phone, however, ultimately, it is up to the user to control their behavior.

It would be better if the app warns you when you are using your phone and it is on a horizontal table, for example, it says it you dont back to the OFFTIME it would stop working And it would work better if all the notifications were off while using the app except calls and sms and the notifications the user says not to block Thanks

This app has really helped me improve on skills I never thought I had to live a real social life. It’s helped me get into a more social interaction with other people and other special things I’ve been missing out on a lot. This app has really gotten me into the real world. It’s also helped me realize that it’s ok to be on your device as long as your not on it too long. Thank you OFFTIME

I think the app should track our time so we can see how much did we spend off our phone while using it for example example to have a notification each week of how much time we spent off our phone just like the IOS screen time thing
