Listening : In the Listening section, you will be asked to demonstrate how well you understand spoken English. The entire Listening test will last approximately 45 minutes and is composed of 100 questions. There are four parts, and directions are given orally for each part. WARNING: On exam day, you will have to mark your answers on the separate answer sheet. Do not write your answers in your test book. Content: Part 1 - Photographs: 6 photographs, 6 questions Part 2 - Questions & Answers, 25 questions Part 3 - Conversations: 13 conversations, 39 questions Part 4 - Talks: 10 talks, 30 questions Note: The main strategy to gain points in the Listening section of the TOEIC is to use all the information given in the test book. Thus you can anticipate what you will hear and concentrate on the key points of the recordings. This will enable you to find the right answers. This strategy can be used for Parts 1, 3, and 4. It is impossible to anticipate for Part 2 as neither the questions nor the possible responses are written. They are only said orally. Reading The Reading section is made up of 4 exercises, giving a total of 100 questions. The entire Reading section will last 75 minutes. Directions are given at the start of each part. You are encouraged to answer as many questions as possible within the time allowed knowing there are no points taken off in this test. Content: Part 5 - Incomplete Sentences: 30 questions Part 6 - Text Completion: 16 questions Part 7 (A) - Single Passages: 29 questions Part 7 (B) - Multiple Passages: 25 questions Note: There is no specific order for filling in the Reading section. Depending on your strengths and strategy, you can start with the part you prefer. Try different orders before exam day to figure out which part you would prefer to start with.
